"If this is bothering you, then maybe you should be honest with her," Shannon sat down to enjoy a frappuccino.
I sit down, only putting my head against my hand, "I seriously don't know."
"What's about him that's making you feel this way?"
"Shannon, I feel like this man has gotten into trouble in the past. I feel I've seen him date someone else I've known, but I can't come to the conclusion."
"Then you need to tell her that. She might get mad, but she needs to know that."
I cover my face with my hands. If I tried to tell Katy, she'd think I'm trying to sabotage her relationship. Should I take Shannon's advice? Should I try and tell her, and risk her getting mad at me? I think she'd understand me. Then I think she won't. I was becoming upset.
My anxiety was worsening. I kept picturing Katy not being treated the way she deserves.
"My anxiety is pretty bad right now, and even though I'm going to talk to her about it, it won't make it better."
"It's better that she's aware."
I left Shannon alone to go and talk with Katy. On my way back to the room, I see Derek, with a cigarette in his hand and some beer talking with another friend. His friend was dressed with shorts and a dodgers shirt. Sitting close enough to eavesdrop in his conversation, he doesn't see me. I did this to make sure he wasn't saying anything about Katy.
For ten minutes, she wasn't brought up. I leave to continue to the room when she's brought up. Stopping in my own tracks, I continue to where I was to hear what was being said about her.
"She's your new girlfriend?," his friend asks.
"Shh, she is, but..."
"Dude, but what?"
"I have a plan with her. The plan is to use her for a few more days, then abuse the shit out of her. But you can't tell anyone," he whispers his whole statement.
"You can't do that," his friend was showing concern.
"I can. And who's going to stop me?"
"I will."
Derek laughs in a way that was evil, "you won't do shit. Give me a reason why I shouldn't."
"She doesn't deserve it. You told her that she's the most beautiful and talented person in this world. She loves you."
Derek chuckles. "Well I don't love her. I didn't mean what I said, I only said it so she'd be with me. It was all a lie. Honestly, she's the most unattractive person on this planet. She's quite disgusting. No one loves her. Her family, friends, and fans hate her to death. Her mother regrets ever giving birth to her. They wish for her to be dead. At least I do. And I'm going to abuse the fuck out of her. She deserves it. If I don't kill her, I'm going to abuse her where her face becomes more uglier and where she can't walk for the rest of her worthless life. I want to end her terrible career. I plan to kill her anyway. It's my desire to kill her. I just said all of that so people would think of me as a good man, not the man I really am. This bitch needs to have this happen to her. And if you tell anyone about what I just told you, I will fucking kill you. It's best you keep your piece-of-shit mouth closed. I think I've made myself clear. If I haven't, then that's sad. Now get the hell out of my face."
His friend was upset and scared as he walked away from him. Before I left, I saw his friend go up to the hotel lobby desk.
I was so torn at what I heard Derek say about Katy. Acting like playing a casino slot machine game, Derek sees me and acts like nothing happened. When he turns in another direction, I go to find Shannon, only her not being where I last left her. Trying to call Shannon, she doesn't answer. There was no sign of her in the whole hotel.
Rushing to make it back to Katy, I find Derek again, this time not saying anything. Back at the room, she was still sleeping. I pound on the door softly "Katy, wake up! I need to talk to you! Katy!"
With no response, I pound harder on the door. "Katy, wake the hell up!"
Five minutes later, there was no response. I really hated going into the room and waking her, but I couldn't wait much longer.
Entering the room, her face was in the open facing the corner of the ceiling. One of her arms was laying on her forehead, while the other was against the bed frame. Her legs were a bit in the air, and she was breathing very heavy. She happened to wear her Adidas jacket.
"Hey Katy, wake up. I need to talk to you."
Katy stretched to move into a different position. I continue to talk to her. "Yo Katy, wake up. There's something I need to talk to you about."
She opens her eyes, not too pleased to see I woke her up.
"Seriously? Can't you wait?"
"No, actually I can't. I have anxiety from this."
"What is it then?"
"It's about Derek."
"God Damn you Christine. You woke me up just for that?," she was giving me an "evil eye" look right into my eyes.
"You need to know something about him Katy. There's a truth behind him, and it's important."
"A truth? Please. Now get the hell out. I'll wake up when I want to."
I answered her command and let her go back to sleep. I went to go find Shannon again. There was no sign of Derek, but I noticed a picture of Katy that was crumbled. On it was written "This bitch is going to DIE."
Looking up, I find Shannon walking alone. I grab the picture and stuff it in my hands.
"Shannon, I've been looking for you," I un crumble the photo for a second time.
"What's that?" She asks.
"It's something of Katy, look," she takes the photo.
"Did you tell Katy?"
"I just found it. I tried telling her something of what I heard Derek say earlier, and it was terrible. She got pissed that I tried waking her to tell her. She doesn't believe there's a truth behind him."
"Let's go. She's going to find out right now whether or not she likes it."
