The drive from Santa Barbara to Dan Diego was three hours and fourty nine minutes. But with traffic stuck on the highway, the ride took us four hours and fifteen minutes. It was seven twenty-one when we finally arrived. With a San Diego State and Maryland college basketball game happening in a few hours, preparation was happening.
There was still no sign of Katy. Since Derek is a convicted abuser, I came up with the idea to track his number and get him arrested.
"I have an idea!" I exclaim, startled Pamela.
"Jeez, you scared me," she giggles, "what is your idea?
I was looking up directions as how to track a phone number. "Right now, I am on a tracking website. If we can track his number, or even Katy's, we can find the exact location they're at."
Bedazzled, Pamela thinks that's a great idea.
"I would have never thought of that!"
Clueless on Derek's phone number, I use Katy's in the search bar. The cool thing about this tracking website is that it not only shows possible locations, but it gives details as to what's happening.
Finally, I had received a result. She was no longer in Santa Barbara, nor the previous cities we searched. It appeared as if she was out of the state. In fact, she was.
"She's not in California! She's being taken to somewhere in Nevada! If she's left in the desert, oh so be it for her," I panic, as my whole body begins to shake.
I immediately dial her number, only to hear it goes right to voicemail.
"She's not answering," I state, thinking her phone was taken by Derek.
The only way to get to her in a reasonable amount of time would be to fly. Driving would take forever.
"Shawnee, drive us to the airport. We have no choice but to fly."
