“I saw Nejire at the shop yesterday buying something not like her.” Tamaki spoke, humming slightly. He didn't realize the dumbfounded look the other was giving him. “Even though most of the people in our class already have their gifts, including you and me. That means it's either for Hashiru, Kanro, or Yuudai.”
He was always like this, and Mirio was kind of forced to listen even though he didn't care too much. It was cute seeing him so determined, though, and he was passionate. Plus, he was talking, and Mirio was not about to stop him.
The third years always did a secret santa, and Tamaki always figured out who was giving what to who. He didn't care about finding out who his own was, he just did this for his own enjoyment.
Mirio wasn't really paying too much attention, just enough to know when to nod or giggle. “You're so into this,” he teased. The other looked up at him, blinking almost as if he were offended.
“They don't tell you when it happens, you still have to guess! I wanna figure it out first.”
“As long as you're having fun doing it.” Mirio snorted a bit, standing up and reaching out his hand for the smaller to take. “Have you even opened your's yet?”
Tamaki shook his head as he put his small hand into the bigger one, being pulled up to his feet. He stumbled from the brief dizziness, but was ultimately fine to start walking toward his locker. “Well then let's do that! I haven't either. I've just forgotten-”
“Nah, you wanted to open it with me.”
“Maayybe.” Mirio drew out his words, giggling childishly. He liked it when he let his guard down, even a little. Because Tamaki wasn't shy, he was just anxious. When he was comfortable in a situation with someone he was comfortable with, he could talk and talk, joke and joke, laugh and laugh.
The indigoette rolled his eyes, sighing as he input the combination to his locker. He reached in and retrieved the small box wrapped in white. Against all cliche laws, Mirio didn't know what Tamaki had, nor did Tamaki know what Mirio had. They weren't each other's santas.
Even though Tamaki had bought him something extra anyway.
