At The Start

At the beginning of your craft, you are going to think..."I need to have this, this and this." Don't be ashamed if this is what you are feeling as of right now...I felt the same way and it's okay. At the start of your craft, you always want to have what other witches do. Like a black cauldron, or huge crystals, or all the essential oils in the WORLD! Believe me, I still feel that way too...I still want all the crystals in the world, hehe. Here are some things I started off with, at the beginning of my witchy journey.

I'm sure a lot of us have a Walmart or Dollar Store in the area where we live. I know here in the US we do, I don't know about overseas, I doubt it tho. Anyway, you can start off with simple things such as scented candles, just to light up in your room, make it smell good. Pick your favorite smells. One thing about the craft is that colors, and smells trigger something in your brain that brings you back to a time in the past. Maybe your grandmother's cookies, or the way your favorite blanket smelled growing up. Lighting these candles help exercise that part of your brain, it'll come in handy later. The candlelight also helps your spirit guides, and past loved ones find their way to you. I will explain that later on. Walmart also had incense sticks...these also help bring the mood down to peace, and I can't really answer the question on why Witches need incense, we just like them dammit! Oils are also very easy to find, you can get them at stores such as Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Target...I suggest not getting incense sticks or oils from the Dollar Store because cheaper products are made with cheaper essential and can be irritant to the skin and lungs. Try to see if the oils say "100% Essential Oil," those are the ones you wanna go for. As you progress through trying and smelling different candles, incense, and oils...you'll find your witchy smells. Meaning every time you have a magick blow out if you ever do, or want your witchy vibes to kick in, grab those smells that are close to your heart, light 'em up and believe me, the feeling you get...it's just so magickal.

Now, I wanted to talk about the difference between some stuff in the Witchcraft Community. Something simple to start with such as the word, "Magic." The word, "Magic," is different from the word, "Magick." Magic is what you see on the television. When the guy pulls the rabbit out his tophat, or when they guess the card you were had in your hand...THAT'S "Magic!" "Magick," is the witches' form of power, magick is what we use to conduct our spells and charms, and yes even out hexes and cursed. I guarantee you won't meet one Witch that hasn't put a hex, or curse on someone... FOR THEIR ENERGY AND SPIRITUAL PROTECTION. We don't curse people just to do it!
