1 year later.
Jewel.
"Someone will be tied down next weekend. How does it feel? Are you nervous yet?" Ciara asked.
I took a bite of my honey bbq boneless wing. I've decided to go to buffalo wild wings with Ciara and Claire. All three of us are like triplets, we are inseperable. Ciara and Claire are both my best friends, and we've all grown so close to one another.
"Just a little bit, I'm mostly excited though." I looked down and admired my diamond ring. No I'm not lucky I'm blessed, yes.
Claire was to busy stuffing her face and flirting on the phone with Lance. Yes I said Lance, these two just started dating last month. On top of that Ciara and Chris finally got married a couple months ago.
"I should be asking you how does it feel to be married?" I licked the honey bbq sauce off my lips.
Ciara shrugged her shoulders. "It all feels the same to me." Ciara joked. "I'm just kidding, it feels really good. It was hard to take Chris serious since he's such a jokester, but he's really an amazing husband and I'm sure August will be the same way."
I smiled, I can't believe next week I will officially be August's wife. The nervousness probably won't hit me until the day before we get married.
Ciara playfully snapped her fingers at Claire. "Uh uh tell Mr. Chocolate drops you'll talk to him later, this is girls time."
I chuckled at 'Mr. Chocolate drops.' Ciara is so stupid. Claire playfully rolled her eyes as she flicked Ciara off.
"Babe, I hate to cut our conversation short but I'll call you later. The girls are on my case right now." Claire failed to whisper in the phone.
I don't know what Lance said on the phone, but whatever he said on the phone caused Claire cheeks to turn rosy red.
"What?" Claire asked as she ended her phone call and stuffed her mouth with a french fry. "You guys are so weird staring at me like that."
Ciara and I both folded our arms. "Spill the juice." Ciara and I said in unison.
Claire busted out laughing and tucked her hair behind her. "Guys are you serious?"
"Very serious." I squinted my eyes. "You always make us tell everything, so spill the juice. What did Lance say to make you turn so damn red?"
Claire let out a nervous chuckle. "He said he love me."
"What?" Ciara screamed causing everyone in the restaurant to stare at us like we were crazy.
"Girl why are you so damn loud?" I playfully slapped Ciara's arm.
"Why didn't you say it back?" I asked.
Claire shrugged her shoulders. "I'm scared to drop the L word again, you know it seems like every time I say it a dude fucks up."
I nodded my head agreeing, that's the same way I felt about my past relationships until I met August.
"I don't think Lance is like that, he seems like a sweet guy." Ciara said taking a sip of her daiquiri.
"He's very sweet." Claire blushed.
"Do you love him though?" Ciara asked.
Claire didn't hesitate to answer, she quickly shook her head yeah. "I really do, I'm just scared to say it."
"Take your time, I mean it's not like y'all just met. Y'all been talkin' over a year now, y'all takin' it slow and it shall remain that way." Ciara said in a shakespeare tone. Claire and I looked at eachother and busted out laughing. I don't know what I'm going to do with this silly ass best friend of mines.
August
"How about we go to the strip club?" Trey rubbed his hands together.
I quickly shook my head no. "Hell naw, Jewel will kill my ass before we even get married."
Trey and Chris both laughed. I admit Trey my nigga, but he the type that'll get my ass in trouble just by lookin' at another female shake they ass in my face...Hell naw I'll pass on that one.
"You a sucka for luv." Trey joked.
I ignored his smart ass joke. I don't care what niggas got to say. Niggas doubted me all my life and said I would never commit to one female. I knew I would one day, but I ain' think it would be this soon.
I took another hit from my blunt and washed it down with some hennessy. Jewel hates when I smoke, but at the end of the day it's my life. I'm gon do what I wanna do regardless, I ain' changing fa nobody.
"Damn yungin' you look high as shit." Chris busted out laughing.
I smirked. "I ain' even gon lie, I'm faded right na'." I licked my lips.
Chris can't talk he act like his ass don't be smokin', he just toned it down a bit because Ciara flips every time he come in smellin' like weed. On top of that Christian has asthma, and the smell of weed can trigger his asthma off.
I'm glad as hell my little girls ain' got that shit. Speakin' of my little girls, I forgot I gotta pick them up from dance practice. I ain' gon pick them up since I've been drinkin' and smokin', I ain' gon take that risk of killin' my lil girls. I picked my phone up and called Jewel, ready to hear her flip out on me.
Jewel quickly answered on the second ring.
"Hey baby." she softly said.
"Wassup luv?" I slurred my words.
"What's wrong August? have you been drinking?" She sighed.
I cleared my throat. "Just a lil bit." I admitted. "Listen, I ain' gon be able to pick the girls up. Can you do it? Something came up." I lied. The truth is I ain't want to risk driving under the influence with my lil girls in the car.
"Are you serious August?" She semi-yelled. "Nevermind you're right, you aren't about to kill our children." She quickly hung up.
I rested my head in my hands as the room looked like it was spinning. I've been drinkin' and smokin' a lil too much lately, I think my nerves startin' to get to me. A nigga never been married befa' so I don't know what the fuck to expect.
"Aug, you good man?" Was the last words I heard before I passed out.
