I Do!

Chapter 2

Jewel

I was on my way to pick up the girls from ballet, and my phone started ringing. I sighed in frustration as I answered.

"Hey I'm driving right now I'll call b-." I got cut off from my sentence once I heard Chris voice.

"Jewel listen to me, i just called the ambulance for August he passed out."

My hands started trembling on the steering wheel. "H-he what?" I stuttered.

"Calm down Jewel he passed out, I'll text you the name of the hospital he's in when I find out."

I dropped my phone as I began to speed to the dance studio to pick the girls up. I parked my car in the front of the building and quickly ran into the building. I signed the girls out and grabbed them.

"Ms. Jones, is everything okay?" The girls ballet teacher Ms. Anderson asked.

"I'm just in a hurry, I have a family emergency." I held the girls hand and ran out to the car. I quickly buckled them in.

"Mommy why are you moving so fast?" Kenzie asked.

"Girls please don't question me right now. Mommy is trying to think straight." I took a deep breath. Once I heard my phone vibrate I knew it was Chris texting me the name of the hospital. I quickly opened the text message. After I read the text I typed the hospital in my gps and began to drive off.

Once I arrived to the hospital I ran to the receptionist. I didn't even wait for the lady to speak, I got straight to the point. "I'm looking for August Alsina."

The lady gave me a small smile. I know it was rude for me not to speak first, but I just need to know if my baby is okay. Something has to be really wrong for August to pass out.

"He's in room 102, they might not let you back since he just-." I didn't even let the lady finish her sentence I grabbed the girls hands and ran looking for room 102.

"Is daddy in the hospital?" Kayla asked.

"Yes, daddy is here. He'll be okay though." I softly said, the truth is I absolutely have no idea what is going on, but I am about to find out.

Once I found room 102 I tried sliding through the door but the nurses stopped me. "M'am you can't come back here."

I felt my face turning red, how the hell they gon' tell me I can't go back there to see my man? These fools lost they mind. "Why can't I? I'm his fiance!" I kept it calm and classy.

"I'm sorry m'am, but you have to wait until we finish running test, we just got him settled in. It'll only be a couple minutes and then you can come back."

I sucked my teeth as I walked towards the waiting area where I seen Chris and Trey sitting. Chris had his head resting in the palm of his hands while Trey nervously shook his leg up and down.

"Guys what happened?" I ran over.

"Kayla and Kenzie, sit down right here please." I patted two chairs for them two to sit down.

Chris looked up at me, his eyes was red and puffy like he's been crying. "Trey can you watch the girls for me, I want to talk to Chris for a sec."

Trey nodded his head as Chris got up. Chris and I walked down a quiet hall. "What happened Chris?" I broke the silence.

Chris tucked his hands in his pockets as he posted up against the wall. "I don't even know forreal. Me, Trey, and Aug was just chillin' at the crib havin' a few drinks and shit. Aug was smokin' a blunt..not to long after he got off the phone wit'chu his eyes started gettin' low. I just thought he was high, he said he was but that's normal for him when he smoke and shit. I asked him was he aight, and he ain't even respond he just fell back out the chair and started shaking and shit he had a seizure. The doctors said he had another one in the ambulance."

My mouth dropped, I paced back in forth holding in my tears. I can't let my girls see me crying, because they'll catch on that there dad might not be okay.

"He's so hardheaded I told him to slow down with that drinking and smoking, he probably didn't even eat anything!" I sighed.

Chris pulled me into a hug and I cried on his shoulder. "Why don't he listen to me?"  I sniffed.

"Shh, Jewel everything going to be okay sis. You gotta stay strong for y'all little girls."

I wiped the tears from my eyes. Chris is so right, I can't let my babies see me crying. Them two are so smart they'll figure out what's going on in a heartbeat.

"Alsina Family." The same nurse who stopped me from going into the room called us over.

"August is a very strong man, he's very weak but he's awake." The nurse smiled. "Y'all may come back and see him."

I followed behind Chris as we walked towards the room. August weakly laid on the hospital bed, he had bags under his eyes. I walked over towards him and ran my fingers through his hair. I wanted to get in his ass right now, but I'll wait until he gets better. I'm just glad my baby is okay.

"Baby, how are you feeling?" I kissed his forehead.

"C'mon now, imma soldier you know me." Aug joked.

"Man I know you wasn't crying." Aug looked over at Chris who chuckled.

"Naw man, it was just allergies." Chris fake sneezed.

I shook my head, these two are complete fools.

"I was worried sick about you, I'm so glad you're okay. What did you do to yourself baby? Are you stressed? You know you can talk to me about anything."

August sucked his teeth. "Baby calm down, I'm good." He cleared his throat. "Where's my lil angels?"

"In the waiting area with Trey, want me to go get them?" I asked.

"Yeah, I wanna see them."

I nodded my head as I stepped out the room to go get the girls. I heard Chris and August talking about something after I walked out, but I didn't tune into there conversation. I don't want to hear the wrong thing because then I'll have a attitude.
