"Welcome to Canada."

Relief flooded over all of us as Kara took her passport back, and we walked past him into Canada. We looked around at the open space. It's beautiful. I looked up at Kara, and I was surprised to see tears in her eyes. Tears. She hugged me tightly. "It's over, Alice. We're free..." We knelt to the ground, still hugging. "I love you... Mom."

Kara smiled. "I love you, too..." She replied happily. I saw Luther smiling down at us. I extended an arm. "Come on, Luther. You're family now, too!" He chuckled, and gave in. He joined us in the hug, and honestly, I could've sat there for hours. Finally we were free, we were safe. We could do whatever we wanted.

Still, we eventually stood and Kara told us we should head to Rose's brother's house. Using the money Rose gave us, we decided to take a taxi to his house. We all sat in the back, Kara to my left, and Luther on my right. I yawned. "You must be exhausted. It will take about an hour to get there, so why don't you rest?" I nodded, going into sleep-mode, and getting much needed rest. Like Kara had said, about an hour and a half later Kara woke me. We got out of the taxi, walking up to this big house. "Whoa." I said. "It's like a mansion!"

Kara giggled a little at my comment. "It is pretty big, isn't it? Well, let's go introduce ourselves, shall we?" We went to the door, and Kara rang the doorbell. Not too long later, the door opened. The man who answered seemed like a cheery fellow, and he looked a lot like Rose.

"Are you Jack Whitman?" Kara asked. The man smiled. "That's me! What can I do for you?" He asked. "I'm not sure if you've been told, but your sister, Rose, said that we could stay here for a while." Jack gave a knowing nod. "Ah, yes. I've heard all right. Rose told me about you guys. I'd be delighted to give you a place to stay." He looked behind us. "Well, well, here comes Harriet Tubman herself." We turned to see another taxi pull up. The doors opened, and out came Rose and Adam. They walked up, Rose smiling as she saw us.

"Kara! You guys made it!" Jack went to Rose and hugged her. "Rose, it's good to see you again!" Rose smiled once more. "You too, Jack!" Jack then hugged Adam. "Hey there, sport!" "Hey, Uncle Jack!" I giggled at all the 'Heys!' and 'Hellos!' Jack then started to walk back inside. "Come on in, everyone! It's cold out here, and I got Hot Chocolate and S'mores for y'all." But I can't eat, can I? Kara seemed to hear my thoughts.

"It's okay, Alice." She said. "We'll just have to politely refuse." I nodded, and we walked inside, taking off our coats. We hung them on a coat rack, then I took off my shoes and left them below my coat. We all walked into Jack's living room, which was huge! Oh, look. There's another fireplace! I thought to myself, giggling. Kara looked at me. "What's so funny?" I pointed to the fireplace. "It seems like everywhere we go, there's some sort of fireplace!" I told her. Kara thought about it, then smiled. "You are absolutely right! Everywhere we've been has had a fireplace! What a coincidence!"

We all sat down on a couple of Jack's many couches, and just talked. We laughed at funny stories people shared, and remembered the scary memories of the past. Jack had brought everyone a Hot Chocolate and a S'more. When Kara told him that we couldn't have either, he said, "No problem! Do you have any blue blood on you?" Luther handed him a couple packs of blue blood that were in his bag, and Jack went into the kitchen. I heard a loud whirring noise for some time, and then Jack came back with cups of...

"Thirium Smoothies!" Jack exclaimed. He gave me, Kara, and Luther a cup, and we tried it. It tasted really good, surprisingly. He must've added something else to it, but of course it would be something we can take into our system. "This is amazing!" Kara complimented. "It is delicious." Luther agreed, and I nodded as well.

Jack seems to know how to please everybody, even androids. I mean, he lives in Canada - the one country that doesn't allow androids at all! But, that doesn't matter, I think we are going to love this place. I'm here with my family, my new friends. I'm happy. What more could a little girl ask for?
