People roamed around the hospital, while some stopped by just to look at a man who was latched onto a dead body that was wrapped up in a large white bag.
The imagery they were witnessing was more than heartbreaking, but scary as well. The man had gone completely insane.
"Just one last time! Just try it one last time!!"
"Sir! Sir, please calm down! Let's take a walk, come on. Let's get you out of here... What's your name, sir?" Namjoon refused to leave the room, no matter how many times the nurses and doctors told him to go back outside to the waiting room.
He stood his ground and held onto the body that was kept inside of that mysterious bag.
"Namjoon. I'm Kim... Kim... Namjoon." He stuttered, unable to even see properly, without his glossy eyes fogging his vision.
"Alright, Kim Namjoon. You need to head back to the waiting room. This environment isn't healthy for you. It'll worsen your current condition-"
"Nurse... Please. Please, one more time." His voice was raspy, and nearly gone from how hard he's been crying. His eyelids threatened to close up on him, feeling heavier and heavier each time, as the pain from within weighed on his mentally and physically exhausted body.
"We tried. Believe us, we truly did... Sadly... His heart shut down. We weren't able to save him. I'm so sorry." No matter the amount of times the doctor repeatedly told Namjoon that Seokjin had passed away, the man never believed him.
He insisted that they attempted to resuscitate him again and again. No one has ever been as persistent as Namjoon has.
The group of medics huddled up, and began whispering at each other, thinking of what to do. One man spoke up, deciding for everyone. Namjoon sniffled, feeling the tears reach
his chest."Once more. We'll attempt CPR once more, but... If this doesn't work out, then... That's it." The doctor nervously lowered his head while Namjoon gulped, agreeing with him.
"Please, step out to the waiting room." They were about to guide him to the waiting room, when Namjoon turned around and headed back into the room.
No one noticed what he said to the man, as he just held his hand and whispered something into his ear, right before vanishing. It left the medics a little bit confused, and saddened, as they turned the lights back on in the dark and cold room.
"Why is it so cold in here?" They wondered.
"Alright, everyone. Let's give it one last shot." A middle-aged man told his crew as they gathered up around the wise doctor, praying for the patient's soul.
To them, the patient had already passed away, but they remained hopeful that a miracle would happen and that the guy would come back to life.
They checked Seokjin's pulse, each time the doctor said the words "Clear!", after releasing the defibrillators off of his chest.
After two attempts, nothing. No sign of life emitted from the man, whatsoever.
"This is it... The last attempt." The doctor breathed heavily as sweat beads dripped down his forehead while pressing down on the defibrillators against Seokjin's bare chest for the very last time.
With no hope left, the man pulled the defibrillators away from the man's body, feeling disappointed just like before.
That was it. That was the very last attempt to bring Seokjin back to life, and it failed. The tall male showed no signs of life. Not even a single pulse left his body.
All of the hard work and praying went to waste.
Everything that had been done, was all for nothing. With a heaviness in his chest, the doctor exited the room with his head bowed down, once more.
He didn't have the heart to notify Namjoon about Seokjin's passing, but he had no other choice but to tell him the truth. It was his job to do so, after all. So he walked down the hallway, only to find another man by his side.
The man appeared to be a friend of his. As soon as the doctor was seen by Namjoon, Namjoon ran towards him with his heart pounding out of his chest, getting his hopes up in hearing the words, "He's alive" come out of the doctor's mouth.
"Namjoon..." The long, dramatic pause frightened Namjoon.
"He-"
"ALIVE!! HE'S ALIVE!" A loud voice echoed from a long hallway. Namjoon ran past the doctor in a heartbeat, panting heavily as he made his way towards the seemingly endless hallway, after inevitably bumping into strangers.
With a million things going through the man's head, Namjoon stopped running when he was lost in an unknown room.
A room that a person was in, covered from head to toe with white sheets. Unaware of who the person was, Namjoon mindlessly rushed inside of the room and cradled the person in his arms, weeping.
When his face started to burn, he released the person and heard a loud, deafening scream coming out from the person's mouth.
"HELP ME!! He's trying to kidnap me! Help!!" Namjoon freaked out, shushing a young woman, who was screaming at the top of her lungs.
"Ma'am, I'm so sorry!" He quickly escaped the room, and ran into the right one.
The room he was currently in, was the cold room he was in before. Just seeing it made him feel sick to his stomach while he entered it, trying to get a closer look at who the hospital workers were blocking with their bodies.
"Are you okay?"
"Do you know where you are?"
Their questions were slowly being answered by a barely audible voice. Namjoon stood behind the paramedics as he was trying to hear the person that was on the operating table.
When Namjoon finally saw Seokjin, he walked towards him, and felt his heart break once more when the man chose to speak to him first, ignoring the doctors.
"Namjoon, I met your father in heaven..."
