Seokjin felt his head being shield and protected with Namjoon's head, keeping it from colliding against the tub and splitting open again.
The older man was left in shock for a while when he noticed a light at the end of the tunnel within the dark abyss that his vision had once transformed into, ever since he ended up blind.
At first, he refused to believe it was true. He didn't find the logic in his eyesight returning,
because the eye doctor himself made it clear to him that he would remain blind forever. However, Seokjin's vision proved him wrong at this moment, when he realized that he was staring at Namjoon's face. While the younger carried him out of the tub, Seokjin walked away, breathing heavily. Namjoon didn't seem concerned about his surprised attitude towards him at first. After all, he did nearly slip inside of a rather elevated tub, so it was only natural for him to be this startled.
"Seokjin, are you okay?" Namjoon not only saw the amount of worry on Seokjin's face, but he also noticed that he wasn't staring at a blank wall when speaking to him anymore.
He was physically staring into his own eyes. And not only that, but he was also pointing at him, while his whole body trembled with panic.
"I... I can see again!!" Namjoon's eyes widened, staring at the older male who was stood in the middle of the living room, panting heavily. He ran towards the man, engulfing him in a tight embrace, unsure of how or when to let go of him.
"Seokjin! Are you sure? Look at me? Are you being serious right now!?" Seokjin nodded continuously while Namjoon cupped his face. In a matter of seconds, the younger's hand was dripping with Seokjin's warm, salty tears.
Both of the men were amazed and relieved at the same time. Now that one nightmare had finally ended, another began.
Seokjin's epiphany: Realizing that Hyunseok was no longer by his side to celebrate the most important moment in his life, right now.
His bittersweet celebratory moment slowly decreased and became nothing but a dead silence that lingered around the house.
"Wow, I never realized how big this house really was." He started to wander off on his own, yet aware that Namjoon was still behind him, following his every move.
Each place he entered seemed new to him. All but one, which he immediately recognized from the moment he stepped foot into it: Hyunseok's bedroom.
The sweet scent of his cologne lingered around the air, filling up in Seokjin's lungs.
His signature items remained untouched, as they were his most prized possessions.
"He used to love singing. Before he became an agent, Hyunseok used to be a vocalist for a band he was in when he was a teenager. His stage name was "Cloudy".
I used to giggle at his name, but now... Now I know why he chose it." Seokjin's voice started to crack, making him choke up halfway.
Namjoon stepped forward wearing a sad frown of sorrow on his face. Before asking why Hyunseok chose the name "Cloudy", Seokjin read his mind and answered the question for him, swallowing a lump that was forming inside of his throat.
"He called himself "Cloudy" because he wanted to be remembered as a cloud after disbanding."
~Flashback~
"Kim Hyunseok, you come over here this instant! It's the forth time I've called that child and he still won't come out of his room to eat." Seokjin vividly recalls hearing his mother and father calling out to his brother, repeatedly.
He remembers feasting on their food, deliciously, while hearing a loud bang coming from upstairs in the apartment.
The way his brother would head downstairs with a flushed face, and angered facial expression towards his parents.
"What has gotten into you?" His mother started, feeling agitated. The looks Hyunseok gave her made her feel upset to a point of giving up on him.
"Hyunseok, do whatever you want. If you have an appetite, eat. If not, then throw the food away in the trash." To which Hyunseok would get further pissed, and respond to her with a low, yet angered tone of voice.
"See the way you are? You interrupt my rehearsal to make me throw food away? Gosh! Who understands you, mom?" His father stood up from the table after hearing his son's disrespectful attitude towards his own mom, and ordered him to apologize to her.
He knew he was right, but his father thought otherwise, and as a result, his mother also took the other man's side, agreeing with him.
"All you do is play on that stupid guitar all day and sing. You've even forgotten about your studies, Hyunseok!"
"But he hasn't..." Seokjin quietly spoke, defending his brother, who had done nothing but study daily, and pay attention to nothing else but his homework.
His parents still wouldn't budge, and didn't see the process within their son's studies one bit.
"Yeah? When?" The void of his mother made Seokjin feel worse for trying to help his brother out of the current situation he was in.
But he couldn't stay quiet about it any longer.
"Mom, he studies even more hours in the day than I do. Don't you see his hands? Or his body? Look at how much weight he's lost because of the pressure he's always under."
Instead of helping, Seokjin only gained hatred from his parents for trying to support Hyunseok's decision, and ended up worsening things.
"His hands don't hurt when he's strumming that guitar for hours, do they? And the reason he's losing weight is because he doesn't eat anything!!"
"Mom, I want to be a singer! I want to start a band with my friends, and become famous one day in order to give you guys the life you deserve!
But most importantly... I want to follow my dreams. I want-"
"You're fifteen, Hyunseok! You don't know what you want. And- Wait a minute- A BAND? Hyunseok, you and those other delinquents are not going to get together and form some horrendous "rock band", that's satanic music and I'm not about to allow my child to become a part of the illuminati or whatever-" Seokjin stood up after hearing what his father had said.
"Illuminati?! Dad, I think that that's a little bit too far. Just because he likes a specific genre of music, doesn't mean he'll automatically teleport into the world of Satan, or whatever."
Hyunseok agreed with his twin.
"Yeah, what he said. Besides, my music isn't SATANIC. It's not even rock. I play a regular guitar, not an electric or bass guitar."
"Hyunseok, it doesn't matter. It still involves those people."
"You two have it all wrong." Both Hyunseok and Seokjin tried to convince their parents that being in a band wasn't bad, but the adults were a tough nut to crack.
"Fine! Have it your way. I'm leaving the house once I turn eighteen, so I won't be under your control anymore." Hyunseok announced, shocking everyone. Especially Seokjin, who immediately ran to his side.
"If you're leaving, then I'm going with you."
"No, you're not. I'm not ruining your life. You can't give up your life to come live with me." Their parents had enough and sent both of them to their rooms.
Hyunseok gladly left upstairs and Seokjin followed behind him, locking himself in his brother's room so they could talk in private.
"The nerve of these two. Gosh!"
"It's just a phase, they'll grow out of it." But their parents were wrong. It wasn't just a simple phase.
And this wasn't the end of their problems. On the contrary; Their problems had barely just begun.
