016 - WANT
필요

THE OPEN SIGN of ryu's soon reluctantly flickered until they could not longer glow. only adding to the growing darkness that had followed with the straying sun. sookja expired, unleashing her hair from the haphazard disheveled bun it had been arrested in for the majority of the day.

even if odette had fled after leaving her in the debris she had unearthed from their past, she knew the girl would return and follow her promise of finishing her job. knowing that it would involve somebody's blood being spilt. most likely her own.

a metallic clatter snapped her out of her own drowning thoughts; sending her heart rate into a frenzy as her eyes leapt from image to image in attempt to find its origin. her concern dwindling as she saw diana emerge from the kitchen. "jesus, diana. you scared me." she chuckled, hand stitched to her chest as she became aware of the scowl drawn on the elder's face.

unable to question her as she threw the cleaning cloth to the floor. "do you have a sudden death wish now or something, ryu?" the woman scoffed at the man who was drawn out of the ebony shadows of the kitchen. "i'm being realistic! we can't afford to just pack up and  move. you know how many god damn years it took to build up this business and get so much customer loyalty. i'm not giving it all up just because the police can't do their god damn job." ryu bit back.

"you're seriously putting this business above our lives? what the hell is wrong with you?!" the shrill-like pitch made sookja's heart shrivel in her chest. unable to stop herself recoiling from the two. "whoever the hell is doing this clearly isn't just going to stop! they're going to kill off all of our customers and then us!"

"we're not leaving."

his retaliating words earned him a swift, stinging slap from his wife. her eyes riddled with disgust as she stepped away from him. "i thought you were so much more smarter than this. i thought that you would have the sense to leave as soon as these murders started. but, i guess i was wrong. i guess i don't know you at all."

"don't say tha—."

"then what do you want me to say? that i'll stay with you until we're both murdered by some psychopath?" asked diana; her scorning eyes fading into defeated doe eyes. "i love you, ryu. but not that much."

perhaps it was how the fog that had laid between them had dissipated with her confession that had left the room desolate of sound. abandoning it in an agonising silence that cried out like nails against a board.

ryu opened and closed his mouth. his actions all in vain as his mind had produced no words to throw back at her. his entire frame pigmented with a defeated aura that stained his figure into someone sookja could barely recognise. "sookja." her already relinquished heart seemed to shatter at the mention of her name. barely able to make her eyes wander up to meet diana's.
