Graduation

We all run to the ceremony in the nick of time. I can see our older friends up the front; Milo, Kida, Rapunzel, Eugene, Jane, Tarzan, Aladdin and Jasmine. I see an older woman holding Atlantia; I assume that's Kida's mum. They all got their diplomats (I think that's how you spell it) and then Aladdin starts to speak.

"Life at school is hectic, let me tell you. It's not the exams cause if you study, then you're fine. It's the friends you make on your journey. You will lose friends and you will make new friends. There will always be bullies, no matter what. But what really touched me is that it doesn't matter where your from, who your parents are, none of that matters. What really matters is that there will be that one person that stands up for you. I, myeslf, know someone like this. This someone risked their life for someone else to live. This someone made friends with the bullies and made the bullies become nice. And I want you all today, to think about that. Because not everyone is tough and not everyone is strong. But the friends you make help you and your life. Because I know first-hand. Thank you, Emily."

I smile. My friends are all smiling; the one's sitting with me in the crowd and the ones on the stage. Friends is a word that we should all treasure.

When Eric told the graduates about me and Tadashi, they all cheered.

"You are an amazing girl, Emily," Rapunzel says, hugging me.

"I'll give you all invitations for the wedding," Milo says.

"You'd better," Belle warns.

We all laugh.

It is sad to say goodbye to them. Half the book club is leaving! But I know we will see each other again. I can feel it.
