The fire

I just came back from a book club meeting. I go inside the dorm and find Wendy and Melody doing their own thing. I am about to take a shower when I smell smoke. I sniff around a lot, attracting the attention of Wendy, who also starts to sniff around. She goes up to Melody on her bunk and asks if Melody can smell smoke. She sniffs around then nods. The three of us go outside and infront of us is an enourmous fire. We all scream like little kids and only moments later does the fire alarm go off. 

Everyone runs out, even Melody seems scared as she frantically searches for Jim, who convenietly, picks her up and runs out, carrying her bridal style. We get out and I see all my friends come out, safe and sound. I check the bullies to see if they have all their members. It seems to me like they do but I'm wrong.

"Tadashi!" Hiro (or knife guy's brother as I like to call him) shouts. I realise Tadashi is still in the fire. Ignoring my friends, I run back to the scene.

"Jack Frost!" I shout. The winter spirit immediatly is at my side. I have always believed in mythology which techniqually means I believe in him. Without having to ask, Jack flys above the fire, finds Tadashi in the midst and makes an ice path to lead me to him. Both him and me find this difficult; me, trying to keep up with this path that is melting quite quickly and desperatly trying not to slip, and Jack, using all his power against this powerful blaze. 

I find Tadashi, out cold. I get my water bottle and put some water to his lips, of which he slowly takes. I put the water away, put the teenager on my shoulders and then run out of the fire with the ice path. Outside, everyone looks at me like I'm crazy. I take a quick glance at my arms, barely scorched. I put Tadashi on a stretcher, then turn around to find a red-eyed Hiro. Even though we're the same age, he is smaller than me and has to sort of strain his neck to see me. He gives me a hug.

"Thank you," Hiro says. I smile. Poor thing, must have been woried sick about his brother. I'm about to go to my friends who all probably think I'm crazy when Hiro starts talking to Tadashi.

"Hey Big brother, glad you could make it," he chuckles. Tadashi's response is weak but loud enought to hear.

"Hiro, who saved me?" Tadashi asks, coughing. Probably has too much smoke in his lungs.

"Oi, Emily!" Hiro shouts. I turn and walk back to the two.

"She saved you Tadashi. Emily did," the little boy says to his brother. The brother in the stretcher turns his head.

"Ain't she the one we were bullying a few months ago?" Tadashi whispers. Hiro nods. Tadashi takes my hand and squeezes it.

"Thank you," he says, smiling. I nod at the two of them, gently let go of Tadashi's hand before they both go into the back of the ambulance. I walk to my friends. They all are gaping at me. Guess they don't see someone being rescued from a burning building everyday. Eric runs to me and lifts me off my feet in a bear hug. I swear, we could be siblings and I couldn't find it hard to believe. He seems like one big brother to me either way. 

"You were amazing, Emily. Saving a bully from a burning building takes a lot of gut," Wendy squeels, nearly tackling me to the ground she has so much energy. Tarzan and Adam put me om their shoulders. All of my friends whoop and cheer, Peter even whistles. Some other students cheer with them including all of the bullies. Jim tips his head, Melody gives me a thumbs-up and the two couples smile at me. I smile back at all of them then wink at Eilonwy, who giggles behind her hand. Operation bullies seems to be going well.
