The fresh and cool winter breeze greeted the reddened, puffed out cheeks belonging to Aoi Kanzaki. The journey from inside the train must have made her skin feel shocked by the sudden coldness of the air outside.

There's no other person in sight, and the only memoria of the minutes that passed by is the lone ticket of the train she was in for the past 2 hours.

The coldness of the station floor seemed to seep through her thick shoes, and she unknowingly curled her toes inside. There's a reason why her favorite season is summer.

She breathed out a sigh and clutched her bag, taking in more of the fresh scent of blood.

Blood?

"'I'll pay you back as soon as possible.' Those were the exact same words I heard from you years ago, Hashibira. Did you really mean that? Do you even have a single coin with you? "

"Of course, I do! You think I'm poor?!"

WHACK!

"ACK! THAT HURT, YOU BUTTHEAD!"

Yes, there is no other person in sight, for the ones in front of her are not considered human beings. That's what she thought, at least, after witnessing the scene unfold in front of her.

Hashibira Inosuke, the school's prettiest face, owner of the sharpest tongue and a kind of temper that's most likely similar to the thinnest thread in the entire universe, is receiving some kind of inhumane beating from an unidentified creature (she refuses to call somebody, who uses a mop to harass another, a human being).

His face looked like a thin sheet of canvas painted by one angry painter whipping his brush aimlessly like how he aimed the mop at the young male's face.

How did it even come to this? She was just asked to do an errand, but she was given an entire live show to witness.

2 and a half hours earlier...

"Hello~ Anybody here?"

Aoi quickly dried her hands using the apron currently tied around her waist. She turned to look at where the voice is coming from and saw Shinobu, peeking to see if there was anybody inside the club room.

"Ah, Kochou-sensei! Did you forget something?" Aoi asked her senior who immediately smiled upon seeing she's still around.

"Aoi! Perfect timing. Can I ask you a favor? I need someone to go and buy the materials needed for tomorrow's experiment. To be honest, I can handle this stuff, if only I'm not caught up in a meeting right now, and the stuff has to be fetched from another town. Kanao's out as well so I have to find someone else. I'm sorry it has to be you. "

The girl in blue pigtails took the list and scanned it.

" I see. No problem, sensei. I can do it. "

The teacher's eyes lit up in delight with her response.

" Thank you so much, Aoi. Be careful though. I'll ask Sumi to make your favorite dinner as compensation."

Shinobu sent her a wink before swiftly gliding to wherever her meeting is, and Aoi couldn't help but chuckle.

She had been living with the siblings for years already and they have gotten closer, but she still preferred to call Shinobu with honorifics when they're at school.
