"Do we really need Christmas lights on the outside of the tower, Tony? Isn't that.... Dangerous?" Steve rubbed his neck as he stood over Tony, staring down at what was called the 'battle plans'. Tony nodded and without hesitation replied, "Of course. This year we have to beat any building out there- And trust me when I say they get competitive."
Steve sighed lightly. "But surrounding the entire tower in lights? That's....That's a bit overkill, don't you think?" Steve noted. "And expensive. Very expensive-" Tony shook his head.
"That's the thing, Stevie. I don't think. I act. Besides- money can be replaced easily." He glanced around the living room, pointing places. "You see, it's bare in here. We need some festivity. If we're really going to impress anyone, we need to go overboard. It's my style." He turned on his heels to face Steve again.
"Or our style now. I got a stocking just for you- It's red, white, and blue." He smirked. "Now tell me I'm the best boyfriend ever and you'd be lost without me?"
Steve rolled his eyes playfully as he approached Tony, wrapping his arms around his small waist. "You're crazy." He started out with a chuckle. "But you're the best boyfriend." He paused as Tony stared at him, expecting him to finish. When Steve finally caved, he finished the sentence off with, "and I would be lost without you. Better?" Tony nodded, standing on his tip toes to peck Steve on the cheek. "Much. Now come on- We have work to do."

"One final touch." Tony hummed, staring up at their now decorated tree. Of course, it had no star, considering Tony was too short- In which he insisted it was regular height, but Steve was not buying it- and Steve was waiting for Tony to finish decorating.
Tony grabbed the star off the couch and looked at Steve. "Care to pick me up, big guy?" Steve chuckled. "Of course." He grabbed Tony's waist before hoisting him into the air, holding him to where he could place the star. With a breath, he did so as Steve let him down.
Tony couldn't help but grin at the now decorated tree. The entire house remained untouched, but this was the beginning. It was very bittersweet putting the star on trees- He never got to when he was younger. He wondered if Steve had the thrill.
"Ready to move on?" Steve hummed, now holding a strand of lights. Tony turned, smiled, and nodded.

Steve rested on the couch, somewhat out of breath. "When you meant go all out- I wasn't expecting you to get an entire fireplace." He breathed out. Tony smirked. "Never doubt a Stark. Extra is my middle name." He hung the stockings, one by one- His own, Steve's, and Peter's. With a hum, he went over to Steve and sat in his lap. Steve wrapped his arms around him as they both stared at the now decorated house.
"Can you believe it? This is only the beginning." Tony mumbled, closing his eyes.
"Phase one completed."
