The crowd cheered as you walked on stage and sat in front of the piano, stretching your neck you introduced yourself and started the song
"An-nyŏng-ha-se-yo!" The music started and you let yourself feel the emotions and take everything in as you sang your heart out.
"Sometimes you gotta bleed to know
That you're alive and have a soul
But it takes someone to come around
To show you how"
Looking past the darkness of side stage you saw Demi smiling like an idiot, dancing. She gave you a little wave and a blush took over your face.
"The songs on the radio are okay
But my taste in music is your face
And it takes a song to come around
To show you how"
You gave her a wink on face and took in the cheers of the crowd. Feeling the lights burn your ears.
"She's the tear in my heart
I'm alive
She's the tear in my heart
I'm on fire
She's the tear in my heart
Take me higher
Than I've ever been
Than I've ever been
Than I've ever been
Than I've ever been"
The music calmed down to just you singing, John playing the bass and Ali snapping. You took a light hearted approach to the next verse, hoping Demi would understand the reference to your senior year trip.
"You fell asleep in my car I drove the whole time
But that's okay I'll just avoid the holes so you sleep fine
I'm driving here I sit
Cursing my government
For not using my taxes to fill holes with more cement
You fell asleep in my car I drove the whole time
But that's okay I'll just avoid the holes so you sleep fine
I'm driving here I sit
Cursing my government
For not using my taxes to fill holes with more cement
Sometimes you gotta bleed to know, oh, oh
That you're alive and have a soul, oh, oh
But it takes someone to come around
To show you how"
Playing the chorus once more you got ready for the ending and sang your hardest. Eventually the music stopped and you played the ending,
"My heart is my armor
She's the tear in my heart
She's a carver
She's a butcher with a smile
Cut me farther
Than I've ever been"
Playing the last note you thanked the crowd and run walked towards Demi, taking you in her arms she screamed, "Holy shit! That was amazing!" You giggled and took in the praise of everyone. Walking with Demi back to her dressing room the two of you talked about everything but the meaning of the song. "Here Dem let me help." You finished zipping her first outfit and couldn't help but take in the view in the mirror, the two of you making eye contact in the mirror. There was definitely something there, a few explosive seconds later Kelsey busted in knocking you both back into reality, "Let's go Dem. Show time." You walked her to the lift under the stage, the two of you did your handshake and ended it with the kiss on your interlocked pinkies. You held eye contact after until the track started, she mouthed and I love you and responded the same. Walking to side stage you let the tears slip, she would never admit the feelings if there were any.
After the show to two of you walked back to her room again joking around with the crew before shutting the door and plopping down. She paced for a few seconds before stopping and speaking up, "Our trip your senior year, the road trip. I slept the whole way there. You couldn't find anything good on the radio so you made me sing. Your shocks went out because the pot holes on those country roads." She paused when it hit her and you leaned forwards resting your face in your hands, visibly shaking. "Fuck Demi I'm sorry I should've come to you before I performed it. I should've told you first. I was just scared that you were gonna be mad at me and-" She cut you off, "Mad at you? Of course I'm mad at you. I have been in love with you for years and you've shown no signs so I stopped showing mine. I thought you hated me." You stood up and took her face in your hands gently, "I would never hate you." You eyes flickered to her lips and then her body and then her eyes, "Kiss me." You did as she said and wrapped your arms around her neck and closed the gap, your lips moving in sync as you jumped and wrapped your legs around her waist. She started kissing your neck, "Demi couch." You moaned out. She laid you down and straddled your waist continuing to leave hickies all over you. She stopped suddenly and jumped up, "You need to leave, I spent years hiding my feelings for you. I can't do this." You were dumbfounded, "Demi I love you. I'm not leaving you. Not now. Not like this." Tears spilled from both your eyes, "Please just go. I'll call you tomorrow." You stood up and tried to take her hands but she pulled away, "Go!" You shook your head, "No Demi. I'm never letting you go again." Letting herself break down in your arms you pulled you both to the ground holding Demi close. A few minutes later she stopped crying and started laughing? "Are you laughing?" She nodded against your chest, "It's so funny how stupid I was. We've had so many moments too. We're stupid." I giggled in agreement, "Yeah stupidly in love." She cackled and kissed my neck. "Let's go." The two of you changed and headed towards the bus, ready to take on the world.
