Status: Ongoing.

BOOK SUMMARY

"A caste system exists in Paramount high, one that separates the privileged from the pigs and dogs of the world.

Divided in classes based on their wealth, students must either belong to Heirs, Silked, Halves, Beneficiaries or Charity Cases.

Nero, an orphan from birth, has recently been transferred to Paramount high on recommendation.

Unfortunately, he is a Charity Case, funded by the school itself.

Charity cases are prime bullying targets and when wealthy heir Zion takes an interest in him, Neros life gets much more complicated.

Truly, against the print of money, even humans can be bought."

The story revolves around our two protagonists:

Nero (who is a Charity case, the lowest social standing you can have) and Zion, (an Heir, the highest social standing you can have.) We follow their story and their struggles as they both strive to survive in such a harshly dictated world, as well as the illicit romance that follows as a result. Both boys have their own unique issues and personalities, and we soon see that not even Heirs have completely luxurious lives in this universe.

THE BOOK REVIEW

The Devil At Paramount High's characters truly put the evil in devil. It has quite a refreshing divergence from most books of it's genre. I'm not usually the type to enjoy LGBTQ+ romance, yet I was instantly hooked from the get-go! With it's complex class divides and social systems, it focuses equally on the plot and the romance, which many romance authors seem to neglect. However, before we start with the review, there's a bit we need to go through first. Let's check out some of it's tertiary aspects, shall we?

---------------------

COVER:

The cover adresses two major things that come up in the book: the school itself, and the main character. However, it seems a tad bit too common. I believe something more eye-catching would do wonders, especially since some readers judge a book solely on its cover. Think of your reader. Who are they? What do they want to see? Where is the story taking place?

TITLE:

It is definitely in-line with the books plot. It immediately clues us in that there's someone or something not quite right with the school, and that feeling of mystery is positively delicious! However, making use of alliteration and assonance goes miles in making titles stick with us! For example, The Pernicious at Paramount High. (This is just a suggestion, you dont have to use it )

BLURB:

Fantastic. Truly, I cannot criticize it. Here's some extract's:

"Truly, against the print of money, even human lives can be bought."
"A caste system exists in Patamount High, one that separates the privileged from the pigs and the dogs of the world."
