14. Killer point of attack.

This happens when you are now holding your pen. This is the most difficult thing to do. Trust me. This is not the ringing of the alarm clock. This is the point where the readers will decide if they will read your story or not. What first event would you like to reveal to your readers? That event must make them wonder why.

Say for example, In Neil Gaiman's book, The Graveyard Book:

There was a hand in the darkness, and it held a knife.

Does this made you curious? Does this made you ask "why"? Like: Why was there a hand holding a knife in the darkness?

The curiosity will kill the cat. In our case, the curious reader will continue reading the book.
