15. Naming the character.
A character is an essential part of the story. Of course it is already a common sense. I must admit that what I hate the most in some wattpad stories is that they use complicated names that are sometimes hard to pronounce and remember. Sometimes, most of them are really not Filipino names (I am talking about the last name and the character is actually pure Filipino). Is it hard to use Filipino last name? Do not make your characters' names too complicated, please. And tip for making a character name- you must make the name of your character mean something. Say for example, if you read Flood in Tarlac, the main character's name is Dr. Jose Caridad but is most often called Dr. Caridad. Caridad means "Charity" but in the story, Dr. Caridad is not charitable. In addition to this is Fortunato in the story The Cask of Amontillado. His name meant Fortune but (if you read the story, you already know) he is not fortunate because he died. The name itself makes a binary opposite.
