Dragon slayer: Blood dragon

Chapter 10

Sam was walking towards everyone else when he saw Tom go pale. "Tom are you okay, you look like a ghost?" Sam asked with concern. "Yeah I feel fine, why?" Tom replied confused. Asta pointed out that he was pale. He assured that he was fine and just really tired. It was just then that they all heard loud panting coming from behind them. It was Wallace. He was sweating so much he might of well just been a waterfall. "The... the..." Wallace was trying to puff out the words. "Hey Wallace, what's wrong ?" Sam questioned worried. "The chains are nearly broken!" Wallace exclaimed. Just then Tom went Ghost-white and fell to the ground. He was breathing but he passed out fully. Fangey tried shoving his head into Tom's arm to wake him up. "He's okay Fangey, it's probably just shock" Asta assured.

Just then Sam crouched down and gave Tom the biggest pimp slap he possibly could. "What was that for?" Tom exclaimed. "You passed out" Sam explained. "That's still not a reason to slap me!" Tom yelled. "Uh, yeah it is" Sam responded with a bit of sass. Tom started to laugh after that and Asta helped him back up. "Anyway Wallace, what were you saying?" Asta questioned. "King Shalo used his magic eye to look in the caverns and he saw a limping man walking away from Hagor's chains with some sort of tool or weapon" Wallace explained. "Bloody hell" Sam grunted. Wallace was confused. "That's the 3rd time I've seen or heard about that limping man" He continued. "We saw a glimpse of his face, he had really pale skin and diamond- blue eyes" Wallace described.

"Why is it the same man, always the same man?" Sam asked with his face in his palms. "Maybe it was the person in that prophecy" Tom suggested. "I mean, that bottom part was torn off to hide the name" He continued. "Didn't Sots say that it began with an 'A'?" Asta asked. "He di- no, it couldn't be... it can't be him" Sam realised while shaking. "Tom, could it be Alex?" sam asked still shaking. "Alex? How? Everyone said that he died 3 years ago but the posters only said missing" Tom replied. "Who's Alex?" Asta questioned confusingly. "He was a friend of ours when he went missing when he went to kill the elemental trolls" Tom explained. "He sent a letter home saying that he was headed to the Blood cavern for some reason, we think that Hagor nearly broke from his chains and Alex went to fix them" He continued. "King Shalo thinks that the Dragons have hypnotising abilities" Wallace joined in. "So there's two possibilities, either he was killed or hypnotised" Asta realised.

After that Wallace headed back to the castle when everyone else had a shadow fly over them. They looked up and saw what seemed to be a Salones. Tom shot an Orange arrow and it hit the Salones in the wing and it started to struggle to fly. The they heard a whistle and a second Salones and a dark figure jumped onto it from the one with the arrow in it's wing. Just then the 2nd one flew off at supersonic speed. "Crap!" Tom shouted with anger. After that they continued to head to the cavern with small breaks. Fangey, Sharlon and Diamond were feeling ignored so they all rammed into them and they got what they wanted. Everyone had a little break and try piece together what's happened. Before anyone could talk the ground started to tremble again.

It was a 2nd tree creature but with a grassland troll on it's shoulder. Sam, Sharlon and Diamond went to attack the troll and Asta, Tom and Fangey went to deal with the tree creature. After 5 minutes Sam had dealt with the troll Asta used her blast and stunned the tree creature. Just then Tom shot 3 orange arrows and the tree creature turned to ash. "Well that was easy" Sam suggested. They all started to walk an after about half an hour they finally reached it. The blood cavern. They were standing outside the entrance Fangey was surrounded by a silver sphere, a similar one to Asta's and Sharlon's. Fangey burst out and started to shoot out sharp teeth from her mouth.

Everyone was in shock but carried on. As soon as they got in they noticed about 200 stepping stones surrounded by the same burbling, boiling blood. Step after step they leaped to each stepping stone to stepping stone. Tom nearly fell into the blood 5 times while Asta and Sharlon were just flying or floating across them all. It took about twenty minutes to cross all of them. "This is taking to bloody long, why can't we float or fly?" Tom yelled with annoyance in his voice. "Because you don't have powers or wings" Asta replied smugly. Just then they reached a ladder and a ledge which was also about 200 metres tall. "Bloody hell, when does this end?" Sam moaned. Sam had to carry diamond and Tom had to carry Fangey up the ladder. They eventually got to the top they noticed 2 more ladders after about half an hour of climbing they finally got to the top only to see... a maze.

Everyone was annoyed when they had to trudge through it and fight a second Hagor Jr. Thankfully this one didn't take as long to kill and they used the same technique as before. They got through the maze just fine as it was a smaller one than the one when Fangey joined the team. They climbed up some stairs then saw a large crack in the ground further up. They walk up to then something came shooting up from it and they heard chains rattle. It was Hagor. Hagor was as big as an Aconian Titanoboa. Hagor was as red as oxygenated blood. Everyone got ready to fight when Hagor let out an ear deafening roar. Tom was shooting arrow after arrow but they were bouncing of Hagor's scaly skin. Sam was slashing so much but it was only causing tiny cuts. Asta was doing small blast after small blast towards Hagor's head causing the scales to fall off. Sharlon was flying around Hagor to confuse him but Hagor spewed a large stream of boiling blood towards Sharlon and he got hit. Sharlon fell to the ground and didn't get up. Sam was jumping off the ledge from behind Hagor . Asta noticed and used her largest blast towards Sam's sword while the Ruby eye glowed. The blade extended and Sam swung. The blade sliced threw cleanly and Hagor's head fell off. Everyone got together. Sharlon still wasn't getting up.

"Sharlon? Sharlon?... Sharlon get up!" Sam yelled. Everyone knew what happened and Sam burst into tears. After they got out of the cave they started to head back to the capital. It took 7 hours but they evantually got back and everyone cheered. Sam, Tom, Asta, Fangey and Diamond kept their heads down. "Hey you're back, what's that in your hand?" King Shalo. Sam handed him Hagor's head to preserve. "He killed Hagor everyone!" Shalo exclaimed. It was just then that King Shalo noticed that Sam was crying. "What's wrong?" He asked. "Can you just get me a spade please?" Sam asked. Shalo did just that and Sam and the others headed to the royal graveyard and Shalo headed behind them. He found a spot and dug for a few minutes. Afterwards he did that he took Sharlon and put him in the grave.

Just then it started to snow. Snow was Sharlon's favourite weather.
