The men headed back home, deciding to take a needed break. But Taehyung had other plans. And Jimin knew.

Taehyung got into the drivers seat and waited for Jimin to get in before pressing the pedal and speeding away.

"Are you alright? I'm sorry for saying those things earlier..."

"'S fine," Taehyung replied, brushing it off.

Jimin frowned. "It's not, really. I shouldn't have said it and I won't say it again."

"Okay."

Okay, now that was a bruh moment. Jimin furrowed his brows. Why was he brushing him off again? Their friendship was slowly crumbling to pieces.

Time flew as Jimin pondered and Taehyung kept his blank face. They eventually reached Jimin's place and the older asked Tae to stay with him for a bit. Of course, the younger complied, not knowing what else to do. It's not like he could just say "no" to Jimin.

So they walked together until they reached the second floor. They opened the door to Jimin's apartment, taking a seat on the couch after locking the door.

"Tae, what's up? You've been so distant lately..." Jimin started, deciding it's better to get straight to the point instead of beating around the bush. He just couldn't understand why Taehyung brushed him off so often.

The taller sighed, "Jimin, I just..."

"Taehyung, don't you Jimin me. Do you really want to sacrifice our friendship for this? You've been too distant. You're always brushing me off, too. And it's been getting worse. Tae, please... I want to stay friends." His eyes began to tear up. "You just..."

"Jimin, I'm sorry. I just don't think I'm ready to talk about it yet," Taehyung turned away, frowning.

"What do you mean 'you're not ready to talk about it'? It's been years, Tae. Years! This has been going on for far too long."

"F-Fine," Taehyung finally complied, his cold facade crumbling down. "I'll start from the beginning."

Jimin's eyes widened at that. He couldn't believe Taehyung actually agreed to talk. He had thought he places to be.

"Ok... Go on." Jimin wiped his eyes and turned towards the taller again.

"Well, I'm sorry. I'll start with that. It's just... I've- How do I explain?" He laughed in exasperation. "Well... It was me and J-Jin. We were walking home but I wanted to play and mess around. He- He told me to stay with him since it's dangerous at night. I was being an idiot and I didn't take it seriously so I went off and said 'make me.' I ran and that's when I heard the scream... You know the rest. But... After all that, I saw the boy who did it. And the other day- The other day, I bumped into him on the streets! Jimin, I found him!"

"You... Wait, hold on. I'm glad you're finally opening up but... Him? You found the guy who...?"

"Yes!"

"Tae..."

"Yes! And I have him... How do I put it? Locked up."

Jimin knew Taehyung. And he knew that whatever he meant by 'locked up' could not be literal, unless...

"You- You have him locked up?"

Taehyung averted his gaze. "Perhaps."

"Tae! Oh my god, what are you doing?"

"He's just getting what he deserves."

"Kim Taehyung..."

"It's fine, Jimin. Now, are you happy? Sorry for keeping everything from you but I have to go now. See you later."

Without giving Jimin any time to respond, Taehyung opened the door and left.
