"Oh, shit, thank God you're back. Fucking hell, Tae, you scared me so bad." Jimin rushed over and engulfed Taehyung in his arms.

"Where's Kook?" Taehyung immediately asked.

Jimin almost scoffed. Taehyung really did love Jungkook. Why couldn't he stop pitying himself and see that?

"He's resting. I told him to go to sleep for now," Jimin answered.

"Thank you..."

"What was that?" Jimin teased.

"Thank you," Taehyung said, just a little bit louder. He looked so ashamed, Jimin had to stifle a laugh.

He let out a satisfied moan, "Yes! That felt good. Now, come on. We need to know everything that happened from the start to finish." The two walked over and took a seat at Jimin's desk.

Taehyung stole a few glances at Jungkook. He looked so peaceful. If only he could just get up and plant kisses all over Jungkook's face— But he lost that privilege the day he met the boy. He messed everything up.

"So... What happened?" Jimin asked.

"Jin's alive," Taehyung beamed. His smile was so wide Jimin was sure he would split his face in two.

"What? Shouldn't you be... angry?"

"Why would I be angry?"

"You're brother's been alive all this time."

"I'm just relieved, Jimin. I'm just so relieved he's okay." Taehyung's eyes teared up, smiling wider than ever.

Jimin almost didn't know how to react— How to respond. Taehyung hadn't smiled like that for years. Jimin almost felt a burst of relief himself. It was such a beautiful feeling to be able to see Taehyung happy again. Or... As happy as Taehyung could be in the moment.

"I'm glad you're relieved, Tae." Jimin pulled Taehyung into another brief hug before asking what happened from start to finish.

Taehyung told him. He told him about how Wooshik kissed him, how Jin was alive, how he and Jin couldn't spend too much time together but he bargained with Wooshik anyway, and most importantly: what was happening between Jin and Wooshik.

Jimin hated every moment of it. Every moment of the story being told, but he stayed strong for his best friend. He would help Taehyung no matter what.

Later, 10AM. Back at Taehyung's apartment.

Jungkook couldn't sleep. Taehyung went to bed as soon as his shift ended and he told Jungkook to go sleep, but the younger just couldn't. He'd slept almost the entire time they were at the station so he couldn't get a wink of sleep. Not one.

Taehyung brought Jungkook to his room when they got back, too. Jungkook could tell that Taehyung was a bit hesitant, and Jungkook was as well. He didn't know what to expect after Taehyung lashed out. But, Taehyung brought him to his bed anyway.

Jungkook had a barrage of emotions that were slowly creeping their way to the surface. He was antsy. He was so nervous to see Taehyung so close to him and he was scared he would wake him up. Their faces were nearly touching and that terrified Jungkook even more. All he had to do was lean in and he would be kissing Taehyung. Jungkook shook his head and rolled over. He didn't want to kiss Taehyung. Not after what happened— Not after he was rejected so harshly.

The words "This is— This is just Stockholm Syndrome or something," rang through Jungkook's mind. He felt tears pricking his eyes. It wasn't Stockholm Syndrome! Jungkook was sure he felt something towards Taehyung. Something good. He didn't even know when it started — maybe when he first saw the officer — but every time he saw him, Jungkook's heart fluttered. His heart absolutely leaped and he couldn't understand why Taehyung couldn't just take him for who he was. He didn't need another person to push him away and break his heart.

Jungkook never had a good relationship with his family. His older brother was always the one to get all of the love. He remembered how they would go out to get ice cream and they would always order a simple single scoop of vanilla for Jungkook but they'd get his brother whatever he wanted. It was small and Jungkook shouldn't have cared, but it still hurt. It was the little things that mattered. The ignoring and bias got worse as time passed. His brother got a phone and was allowed to go out and hang out with his friends, but Jungkook wasn't allowed to do anything. "Who knows what you could get up to?" his parents would say.

It hurt. The mistrust; the biasing; the way they spoke about him at night. It was all so painful. So the last person he needed breaking his self-worth was Taehyung.

Suddenly, a pair of arms wrapped around Jungkook's waist, pulling him close. He felt soft breaths on the back of his neck and then a nose nuzzling into his hair. He held his breath for a moment, wondering if he woke Taehyung up, but the older didn't stir.

"Taehyung?" Jungkook murmured. No response. Phew.

Jungkook relaxed into Taehyung's embrace, sinking down and allowing his eyes to flutter shut. His thoughts dissipated and he let out a sigh before attempting to sleep again. The cuddling worked wonders on his sleeping condition. Before he knew it, he was sound asleep, cuddling into Taehyung and breathing ever so softly.
