Chapter 57: Saving Xue Liang (2)

"Let us hurry and go. We cannot stay here any longer." Liu Gang said, holding her hand as they both nodded leaving. She was led behind him, he held her hand without letting go. They walked around as Ye Ping was still unconscious.

Xue Ya walked to her son's room as she stared down at her son. "Yao Chuan, mother, hopes that you can rule your kingdom well." She said rubbing his cheek as he giggled to her.

Both Xue Liang and Liu Gang felt a little pity for her as she was in a marriage with the emperor. As a human, she had no such thing as mates as she could only be Ye Ping's empress.

Both Liu Gang and Xue Liang have finally reached the gates of Ming Kingdom. The men in the Ming Palace had finally found Ye Ping laying down as they shook him to wake up.

"Find them!!! Don't let them go!!!" Ye Ping was in anger as the soldiers were all preparing to look for Xue Liang and Liu Gang.

"Quickly, we must leave." Liu Gang shifted as he lowered his body for Xue Liang to get on. Xue Liang got on his back as she held onto him tightly. He ran to the forest, getting there as Xue Liang got off. She caught the scent as she looked to see Peng Lim coming out of the shadows of the forest.

"Lim!? Why are you here?" Xue Liang questioned looking at him as she had no idea Liu Gang had brought the military.

"I brought them here." Liu Gang shifted back as she looked at him. "I had my people all take a hidden passage in the palace. Each of the passages that Madam Shen had shown in the letter as well." He said as she was a bit surprised by his actions.

"Gang, everyone is now in place. When do you wish to start?" Peng Lim asked. They then heard soldiers starting to march from the Ming Kingdom.

"Now would be a good time." Liu Gang said. Peng Lim took the horn he held in his hand as he blew it, making the signal for them to attack now. All the soldiers from Qiliang were impatient as they started shifting. Shifting after one another as they had waited long enough.

Xue Liang was a little surprised that felines were known to be impatient with their prey as they had run off. Every soldier had yelled and screamed feeling the feline all target and attack them. Xue Liang held her belly as she could hear the palace in uproar.

Every maid and manservant were shaking and running for their lives as Ye Ping was trying to find Xue Ya. "Ya! Where are you!?" He called for her. He stopped then seeing her lifeless body. She held a cup of wine that she had drunk with poison. "Ya?" He held her hand as he lifted her leaning against his body.

Earlier...

Xue Ya looked at all the felines attacking them as she held a little bottle with poison inside. Looking at the maid that had her son. "Jia, take my son and raise him. When he is grown up then teach him well to take back his kingdom. Tell him that he was meant to reclaim his throne." Xue Ya said as the maid bowed hurriedly leaving with Prince Ye Yao Chuan.

She poured the tea, letting the liquid of poison mix together in it. She looked down at it as she wasn't afraid of death but only wished that she had the real affection she was never given. Drinking the tea as the cup fell onto the floor as she did.

Ye Ping was crying as he rubbed her cheeks. He didn't care anymore as he had lost the one who was always there for him. Holding her hand as he looked at the table. Seeing the little bottle still with half the amount of poison he took it as he held Xue Ya's hand. "Ya, I'm sorry that I failed to love you." He held her hand as he took the poison.

People all around saw it all as their emperor took his own life. The Ming Kingdom was near its downfall as there would be no ruler. The land was bound to be abandoned now.

Far along a carriage, the maid holds the child sleeping in her arms. She had known Xue Ya who took her in when she was nearly sold to the brothel. "Madam Ya, I will be sure to have your son avenge you." She said far along the border already.

Liu Gang, Peng Lim, and Xue Liang watched as the Ming Palace was in flames. "This ends the uproar. Lim brings everyone home." Liu Gang said.

"Mother's little child, it's finally over." Xue Liang smiled, rubbing her belly and knowing that everything was now ending. Liu Gang saw her as he smiled seeing that his wife was fine with his child.

Xue Liang's vision then blurred as she felt exhausted. She felt herself stumble as Liu Gang could sense her movement. He rushed over, catching her as she fell over. "Liang!? Liang!?" He called. Everyone from Qiliang returned knowing they had to hurry and travel back.

Xue Liang awoke in a carriage as it was moving. She grunted feeling her head hurt. Feeling her belly she still had her child letting out a sigh after. "Gang?" She said as the carriage stopped. Liu Gang opened the curtains from the entrance as he smiled, hugging her.

"You're okay. Don't keep worrying me." He said as she smiled, hugging him back.

"I'm sorry. I just haven't had a pleasant sleep for some time. Being in the palace was like walking on thin ice." She said inhaling his scent. Their carriage started moving again as Liu Gang remained by her side in the carriage.

"Go ahead and sleep. I'll tell you when we've reached our home." He said as Xue Liang nodded while sleeping.
