*Rosalie POV*

"So, how's Chloe doing?" Kate asks. Right now, Emmett, Esme and I are visiting the Denalis in Alaska. We'll be back later during Cornell's Spring Break, but it's nice to get away from everything for a while. "We write pretty regularly. She's doing very well, which she is not afraid to point out. She thinks one of her teachers is a bit of a weird guy though. She said his name is Professor Gilderoy Lockhart. She said on one of the first lessons, he set out live pixies in class and made her and her friends gather them up while he hid" I tell them. Tanya raises an eyebrow, "and he still works there?" "Apparently so. Chloe told me she doesn't know if he will for long, though. There are rumors that his position is jinxed and apparently no teacher has worked as Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher for more than one school year in quite a while" I say. "What about boys? Is she dating yet?" Tanya asks playfully. Before I can answer, Emmett says "yeah, she has a boyfriend. His name is Fred Weasley. We've never met in person, but we've been exchanging letters for a few months. We've told him the boundaries and before it gets really serious, like first kiss and whatnot, we want to meet him in person first." Kate chuckles. "If she's anything like I was, she'll have her first kiss when she's ready, not when you are." She has a point. If Chloe really wants something, she won't ask permission. I start to ponder this when I hear the doorbell. Instinctively, I sniff to see who it is. It's someone I haven't seen in over a year. Chloe's headmaster. My dead heart drops to my feet.

I accompany Tanya to open the door, and standing there is Albus Dumbledore in crimson red robes. "Headmaster Dumbledore? Is everything okay?" I ask worriedly. Emmett is at my side a second later. Since the headmaster made a housecall, something is obviously wrong. "No, Mrs. Hale, I'm afraid it isn't. Something has happened and I've come to explain" he says. He looks oddly serious. "Okay, come in" I say and we make our way to the couch, where everyone else is anxiously waiting. He sees the Denalis and introduces himself and states he is Chloe's headmaster. That's when they grasp the gravity of the situation. He gestures for us to sit down, which we do. "Has Chloe notified you of recent events at Hogwarts?" he asks. "Apart from classes and some minor drama, no. Why?" I ask. He doesn't seem surprised. "Well, since Halloween, Hogwarts has seen a string of attacks on muggle born students. They are being petrified. We don't know who or what is responsible, but I am afraid to say that Chloe was attacked about an hour ago" he says.

It's as if the ground has disappeared from underneath my feet and the breath has been knocked out of me. "What do you mean, petrified?" Emmett, who's got his arm around me, asks. "She is frozen. We are currently in the process of making a potion to revive the petrified students, but we are notifying parents all the same." "You don't know how this happened?" I ask. How??? "No. She was found in the library along with two other girls. Currently she's in the hospital wing" Dumbledore says. I stand up. "I want to see her" He doesn't seem surprised at this either. Emmett and Esme are at my sides. Surprisingly, so are the Denalis. "You three can't go alone. We'll go with you" Tanya says. I nod. Quite frankly, I don't care who goes. I just need to see my baby. I see Dumbledore pull something out from his robes that looks like a large teacup. "This is a portkey. Everyone grab onto it and we will be taken to Hogwarts" he says. I grab on, while everyone else looks hesitant, but does so in the end.

I feel what seems to be a hook near my navel and then I'm jerked forward. I can feel my feet being lifted from the ground and I feel like I'm flying, surrounded by wind and swirling colors. I feel like I'm being pulled by the teacup as I'm flying forward with Emmett and Esme banging against me. Then, it stops and we land in an office. I assume it's Dumbledore's. There are portraits everywhere and weird trinkets. "This way" Dumbledore says, and we follow him. This castle is huge. It has moving staircases and paintings that have moving subjects. I would pay more attention if I wasn't so focused on Chloe. I keep listening for her, or sniffing for her, but nothing. There's too many humans. I am right on Dumbledore's tail when he finally stops at what's probably the first floor. Then, he leads us to a pair of double doors. I waste no time in going in and going to my baby's bedside. What I see is heartbreaking.
