*Chloe POV*

I slowly start to come back to consciousness. It kind of feels like I'm waking up from a very long nap. At first, my vision is blurry. I can see something blonde above me, dabbing something cold on me. Then, my vision starts to come into focus. I see that it's my mom, and she's dabbing a sponge on my hand and wiggling the mirror out of it, eventually succeeding. I try to say "Mom, what are you doing here?" but all that comes out is a groan. Immediately, her head snaps in my direction. "Chloe?" she asks with a crack in her voice that I don't think I've heard from her. I also notice a few other people around me. My dad - who is on my other side, also with a sponge - Esme, and Aunt Alice. I blink, to make sure it's really them. My eyelids feel really heavy.

Another person comes into view. Professor Sprout. "I'm just going to give her another dose now that she's moving a bit more. I suggest you start helping her loosen her muscles" she says. She uncorks a bottle and pours the contents down my throat. It does not taste good. It burns, awakening everything in its path. My family each takes a limb and starts to bend, stretch, and flex. My mom also closes my mouth. At first, it hurts. Then, it starts to feel better. I try to move my mouth and form words again. "Mom?" I finally manage to get out. My voice sounds groggy. My mom looks like she would be sobbing if she could. Then, without warning, she hugs me. I start to regain use of my arms, and they are slightly more flexible. I wrap my arms around her, although a little lighter than I had intended. I can hear her sobbing tearless sobs. I look at dad to call her off so I can sit up, but he shakes his head.

After what feels like several minutes, she gets off and smiles down at me. I try to sit up. She doesn't stop me, but her and dad support my back and head as if I were a child again. "How are you feeling?" dad asks. "Stiff. Tired" I say. He smiles. "Madam Pomfrey says that will go away once you use your muscles a bit" he says. I just nod. Then, he hugs me to. As I hug him, I can see some people walking into the hospital wing. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley with a very dirty looking Ron, Professor Lockhart - who looks like he's in his own world - and Ginny. She looks pale and very dirty as well.

Madam Pomfrey rushes up to her and makes her sit on on the bed next to mine. She looks around the room and a weird look crosses her face. Finally, dad lets go of me. I make eye contact with Ron, and wave. "Chloe!" he says with a grin. I try and hop down from my bed, but I almost end up falling. Thankfully, mom catches me in time. "Careful, sweetie" she says. Instead, Ron comes over to me and hugs me. I hug him back for a minute before I realize he's slimy. Then, I pull away. "Really?" he says. "Sorry. You're slimey. Speaking of which, why are you slimey?" I ask. "He'll tell you once he's been evaluated" Madam Pomfrey says and drags him off to another bed.

"We have a few questions for you" mom says, turning to me. I don't like the look on her face. "How come you didn't tell us how miserable you were this year? And the rumors going around about you?" she asks. "How did you find out about that?" I ask. "Fred told us" dad says. My eyes get wide. "How come?" I ask. "We told him to. Don't blame him. Now, why didn't you tell us?" mom asks. "I didn't want to get pulled out of school" I say in a quiet voice. She makes me look at her. "We need you to tell us things like this. It's not healthy to keep such big secrets." she says. I nod. She holds out her hands. "I want to see you walk" she says, changing the subject. Reluctantly, I take her hands like I'm learning how to walk all over again. I take a very stiff step forward, and then another one, and then another one. Then, it becomes easier. "I think I can do it myself" I tell my mom. Hesitantly, she lets go.

"There's going to be a feast, so if you are wanting to change your clothes, I suggest you go now" Madam Pomfrey says. When she says this, Hermione gets off her bed and comes over to me with a huge grin on her face. I look at mom. "Can I go?" "Sure" she says. I grin and give her a hug. Then, all of us leave. On the way to the Gryffindor Common Room, Ron catches us up on everything that's been going on. Turns out we've been petrified for 2 months. It definitely feels that way because I'm not able to move as fast as I would like to. Ron tells us everything that went down while we were gone. He's only interrupted by a few sobs from Ginny. "Wait a minute, so I'm related to Voldemort?!" I ask in outrage. Ron and Ginny wince, but Ron nods. "Of all the people on this planet to be related to..." I growl. "At least people will know that you weren't the one attacking people" Hermione says. I ignore this and irritably crawl through the portrait hole. When I get to the other side, though, all of my anger fades away.

Fred. He's by himself, waiting for someone. George, probably. When we enter, though, he looks up. I don't know what possesses me to do it, but I run up to him and the first thing I do is wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him. He's stunned at first, but then lightly wraps his arms around me and kisses me back. It's pure bliss. The feeling of his warm lips against mine, moving in sync. I suddenly remember that there are other people with us, and I pull away, a huge grin on my face. "Nice to see you to," he says with a chuckle.

The evening goes by in a blur. Everyone - including Hermione and I - are in our pajamas, and Hermione and I both run up to Harry and hug him. Part of me is amazed that they were able to solve this without dying, but I'm also very proud to. Harry says he couldn't have done it without our help. A lot of the people who were formally whispering about me now apologize to me for thinking I was attacking the students. "So, it only took me getting petrified for them to realize the truth? Good to know" I mutter to Fred as Ernie goes back to the Hufflepuff table. Hagrid comes back from Azkaban, and Gryffindors win the House Cup for the second year in a row thanks to Harry and Ron winning 400 points. The icing on the cake is Professor McGonagall saying exams are canceled and Professor Lockhart is not coming back next year.

Too soon, it's time to return home. We practice dueling - Harry and I are quite good at disarming - and we play exploding snap, and set off more fireworks. Hermione and I also try and catch up on what we missed while we were petrified. We all change - I change into jean shorts and a gray shirt with a black bralette that's showing around the collar and sandals - and I work on stretching and regaining full use of my muscles. I am now able to do the splits again. I'm working on touching my toes while doing the splits when Harry asks, "Ginny - what did you see Percy doing, that he didn't want you to tell anyone?" "Oh, that," says Ginny, giggling. "Well - Percy's got a girlfriend" My jaw drops and Fred drops books on George's head. "What?" "It's that Ravenclaw prefect, Penelope Clearwater," says Ginny. "That's who he was writing to all last summer. He's been meeting her all over the school in secret. I walked in on them kissing in an empty classroom one day. He was so upset when she was - you know - attacked. You won't tease him, will you?" she asks anxiously. "Wouldn't dream of it," says Fred, who looks as if Christmas came early. "Definitely not," says George.

Harry then pulls out a bit of parchment and a quill. He scribbles something on it and splits it into three pieces and hands me one. I look down. It's a phone number. "This is called a telephone number," he tells Ron. "I told your dad how to use a telephone last summer - he'll know. Call me at the Dursleys', okay? I can't stand another two months with only Dudley to talk to..." I decide to do the same, except I hand a fourth to Fred. "Here's mine. I live in Forks, Washington -" My parents told me about what happened with Edward and Bella and our move back to Forks " - so you guys will be about 8 hours ahead of me, but don't worry about that too much as long as you don't call me at 1 A.M. You've met my family. They won't mind..." I say. Fred told me his side of the story when he met my parents. I told him I will have words with them and to please not be scared of them.

"Your aunt and uncle will be proud, though, won't they?" says Hermione as we get off the train and join the crowd thronging toward the enchanted barrier. "When they hear what you did this year?" "Proud?" says Harry. "Are you crazy? All those times I could've died, and I didn't manage it? They'll be furious..." Together, we walk back into the muggle world.
