Staying Over

"Misty?!" Ash exclaims.
"Ash?!" The girl gasps.
Wait what?!

"You're Misty?!" I ask leaping forward.
The girl jumps back, "Yes? How do you know me?" The girl questions, moving forward.
Ash interrupts, "Wow I was just telling Serena here about how I met you in Alola!"
Misty looks me up and down for a few seconds, then puts her hand out in front of her. "Hi I'm Misty!"
I shake her hand, "I'm Serena! Glad to meet you!"
Ash smiles and Pikachu cheers.

"Why are you here Ash?" Misty asks Ash. "Oh I was just going around to different regions thinking about what to do for the rest of my life." Ash replies, "Why are you here Misty?"
"Same thing I guess." Misty says.
We stand in silence for a moment.

"Well it's almost lunch and I was wondering if you wanted to join me and Ash to eat and the next town." I say to Misty. She seems nice. We could all be friends! Misty nods and we start to walk towards the next town.

We find a café and Ash sits down at a table, I go to sit next to him but Misty rushes to his side instead. I little angry, I sit opposite Ash instead.
We order food and drinks and eat them happily with few conversations. Ash won't stop blushing, but I don't know why.

"So where are you staying Misty?" Ash asks. "In a hotel 3 towns away. I bet it'll be dark by the time I get there today." Misty says looking out the café window. Misty looks at Ash sadly. Ash think for a moment then says, "Well I'm staying at Serena's house which is not far from here." Ash smiles and Misty looks annoyed. "Lucky." Misty says sadly.

I can't help but feel bad. "Do you want to come over to my place and then my mum could drive you to your hotel." I say, being nice. Misty nods but doesn't look satisfied with what I said.

We all walk back to my place. Ash and Misty were in a deep conversation all the way back so I didn't interrupt them. Eventually we get to my place.
"Well here we are! I'll go fetch my mum for you Misty!" I say rushing in the house.

"Mum!" I yell as I walk in, "Mum can you drive someone somewhere?" I look around, "Mum?" Where is she? "Mother where are you?" I yell upstairs. I then see a note on the kitchen bench. I pick up the note and read it.
'Gone out shopping - pie in the fridge' it reads. I sigh. I guess Misty will get home even later. Mum loves long shopping trips.

I go outside to where Misty and Ash are waiting. "Sorry my mum won't be home for a while so you can just relax till she gets here." I say. Misty nods and heads inside with Ash and I. I get the pie ready while Misty explores my house. Ash just watches me re-heat the pie.

"What type of pie is it?" Ash asks when the pie is cooking. "Not sure, we'll all have a slice and all guess what flavour it is." I say. Ash agrees by smiling.

Not 5 minutes later the pie is ready. I get out some plates and we all dig in. Ash is the first to guess the pie flavour. Ash's love for food will never fade.

It gets dark quick and my mum still isn't home. We are all playing UNO in my bed, it's a good card game that Bonnie always makes my play. We play several rounds and I win the majority of them.

"Hey Serena it's getting pretty dark." Misty says to me. I glance at my bedroom window. "Hopefully my mum will be home soon so she can drive you to your hotel." I reply, shuffling the cards, "Anyone for another game?" I ask. Misty and Ash shake their heads but Pikachu nods eagerly. Pikachu really loves this game.

"What if your mum doesn't feel like driving when she gets here?" Misty asks.
"Then I'll just make her." I say not looking up while I pack the cards away.
"Oh ok..." Misty says slowly.

"Kids! I'm home!" I hear a voice say from downstairs. I jump off my bed and rush downstairs.
"Mum! There is a girl that would like to be driven to the hotel she is staying at!" I say in a rushed voice.
My mum looks at me confused. Misty then appears behind me. "Oh hello! What's your name?" My mum says pushing me out of the way. "Oh I'm Misty! Nice to meet you, Serena's mum!" Misty says happily.
"Are you the girl that wants to be driven to the hotel?" My mum asks. "Yes." I say. "Yes but it's getting dark so if you don't wanna drive me that's fine, I could walk I guess..." Misty says looking out the window.
"Or you could stay here! A second visitor! You and Serena could sleep in her room and Ash could sleep in the lounge! If that's ok with you Ash." My mum says as Ash comes down the stairs. "Sure!" Ash and Misty both say.

We all got ready for bed and I arranged a pile of pillows and blankets on my bedroom floor for Misty. Misty has to borrow some comfortable clothes for PJ's. She kinda looks funny in a long worn out T-shirt. She unties her hair and it falls to the same length mine is; just above our shoulders.

I lay on my bed and stare at the ceiling.
"Thanks for letting me stay here." Misty whispers. "No problem." I whisper back. We both lay in silence for a while.

"How do you know Ash?" Misty asks me.
I roll over to look at her, "We both hung out and traveled together when we were on our adventure in Kalos." I say.
She nods in understanding, "Same, but when he was on his Kanto adventure."
I stare at her for another minute.
"Well goodnight." Misty says rolling over away from me. "Goodnight!" I whisper.
