Cabins were swiftly split up amongst the six of them- Theseus and Leta in the cabin on the right, Newt and Tina in the middle one, and Jacob and Queenie taking the cabin on the left. They hauled their bags inside (all three of them, in Queenie's case), and unpacked before their first activity.
Newt and Tina nudged open the door to their cabin, their duffle bags slung over their shoulders like potato sacks. The former's was slightly heavier, because, unbeknownst to Tina, he had sneaked in his magical suitcase after Theseus told him to leave it at home. But no one needed to know about that- surely, his beasts wouldn't cause any trouble just for a couple of days.
The wooden cabin door squeaked open, and the pair were greeted with what was to be their home for the next few days; a perfectly square, wood room, with a small kitchenette near the entrance and a large window with a view of the pine trees situated on the far wall. On the right-hand side was a second door- a bathroom, presumably. On the far left was a single closed closet. Either side of the window, facing the same way, were two sparse-looking beds. Except, they weren't identical.
The bed on the right-hand side looked perfectly fine, albeit a little worn... but the bed on the left-hand side was missing a mattress and had a few rotting and broken planks.
Newt and Tina's gazes both fell on the good bed- then the broken one- then back to each other.
It took them half a heartbeat to figure out what to do next. They bolted inside at the same time, their luggage left forgotten in the doorway. Tina reached the better bed first, but Newt tripped over a loose piece of floorboard and tumbled to the ground, taking Tina with him. He stumbled to his feet first, but before Newt could lay claim on the preferred bed, Tina yanked his ankle back, sending him slipping to the ground again.
"No!"
He twisted around, trying to fight her off.
"No... my- bed!"
Newt attempted to shove her off him in order to make a desperate lunge for the bed, but Tina was stronger than she looked, and hung on to him for dear life, while at the same time scrabbling across the wood flooring in hopes of getting there first. With a stab of panic, he could feel her shoving him backwards, but Newt elbowed her out of the way, determined to get the better bed-
"Am I interrupting something?"
Newt and Tina froze, then simultaneously turned to face Queenie, hovering behind their bags in the doorway with a thrilled smirk across her face.
"No," they answered at the same time, dutifully untangling themselves.
"You looked busy." She gave a cheeky grin.
The pair flushed red and immediately found the floor in desperate need of attention. Queenie, sensing that her work was done, spun away after kicking their bags in after them and calling over her shoulder, "Unpack already! We're going orienteering first."
An uncomfortably awkward silence hung between them before they both spoke again at the same time.
"You can have the bed."

And, there we go!!
I wrote this chapter, so fangirling_puff will be doing the next one. It'll be a chapter where they go orienteering :3 so that will be interesting.
I'm looking forward to reading it :D
