Chapter 9

You just sat on your bed. Completely still. You weren't sure how much time had past but you didn't care. Your mind was racing a million miles a minute trying to process everything.

He'd kissed you.

Spock has really kissed you.

And you liked it.

A sharp knock at you door jolted you from your thought and the sudden feeling of how red your face was. You slowly walked to the door and opened it to see who was coming to your room this late at night.

Uhura stood on the other side of the door with her normal smile which quickly fell once she saw the look on your face.

"Are you alright?" She said walking in and wrapping you in a tight hug. You shook your head and buried your head into here shoulder. "Do you want to talk about it?" You shook your head again at her question and she simply nodded and opted to taking you to the small couch and grabbing some junk food and your favourite movie and placing a blanket over you. She knew that once you were ready you would tell her but for know you just needed a shoulder to lean on which she happily provided as you soon fell asleep on her shoulder. Finally being able to relax enough for your exhaustion to take over you and lull you to sleep.

You awoke to the gently shacking of your shoulders and you slowly sat up on the couch. You looked around taking in your surroundings and seeing Uhura a small distance from you stood smiling sweetly at you. You smiled back rubbing you slightly saw neck from sleeping on the couch all night.

"My shifts going to start so I have to go. Thought I should wake you since your shift starts in about a hour. I'll come by when you finish today alright?" She said handing you a mug of hot tea.

You simply smiled and nodded at her sweet gesture . "Thank you Uhura" you said in a small voice and she gave you one last big smile before leaving your room.

The events of yesterday washing over your tired body as you fully woke up thanks to the nice warm tea. Your mind was clearer after the nights rest but no less confused at the events. You tried to push it from your mind as you got ready and headed down to the med bay but once settled in your desk a nurse came to your partly open door, gently knocking. You gave her a warm smile inviting her in for whatever business she had. She smiled back before stepping in.

"I have a message from commander Spock miss" she said lifting up her PADD to read the notes she had taken. The mention of his name causing you to stiffen in your seat instantly but luckily she hadn't noticed as she read out the message. "He has asked that for the remainder of his treatment be passed to a different nurse as he needs to change the appointments to when it won't fit with your schedule" she said and looked back up at you for your answer. You nodded at her.

"Ok. I'll do that right away. You can continue your duties now" you said back dryly and she quickly bowed and left you office closing the door behind her.

You let the smile slip from your face at the sound of the door shutting and you lent back in your chair sighing heavily.

Of course he would make up an excuse like that to swap nurses you though glancing out at the nurses working in the med bay outside your window.

Sighing you opened up your pad to see a email from Spock. Your stomach dropped as you slowly moved to hit the open button.

He had only sent one thing. His schedule with 2 boxes in the middle of the day on Tuesday and Friday highlighted. 'Of course' you though. He had your schedule and those days you couldn't leave the med bay because there was meeting throughout the day on Friday and on Tuesday you spent the entire day in your office filling in paper work and filing patient records to the correct places.

'Smart arse' you chuckled to youself in your mind as you stepped out of your office and approached one of the older nurses who seemed the best choice to take over near the end. Your explained the situation carful not to show any emotion and only stating that he wanted to change and the reason he had given. She simply agreed and you relaid and sent her the information she would need for the last few weeks of treatment before returning to your office. You closed the door and shut the currents before laying your head against your desk trying to clear it so you could get back to work.

You sat up shacking your head and quickly sent Spock the amended schedule and the staff file of the nurse that would be attending the next meeting. You didn't type any message and simply sent it. Closing your PADD and heading out into the med bay to busy your self with work to keep your mind busy.

At the end of the day you dragged your feet back to your room. Throwing your self into working had been effective at keeping your mind of the matter at hand but as soon as your shift had ended and the nurses from the next shift had hurried you out of the med bay as you had already stayed a lot later than you should have.

Uhura was leaning against the wall next to your room as you got there and gave you a pointed look as you approached.

You simply sighed as you unlocked your door and let her in. Knowing she had something to say and you wouldn't be able to get a word in until she had finished.

Once you were both in and the door closed she turned to you immediately and pointed a finger at you. "Please tell me your ready to talk because one of the nurses messaged me on how you were acting today and I'm not letting you work your self to sickness again". She said placing both hands on her hips. You simply nodded at her words and walked over to your bed plopping down and hanging your head.

"Spock kissed me" you said flatly and in a small voice but from her reaction she definitely herd you.

She was by your side in the blink of a eye and forced you to look at her. "Isn't that great?" She said smiling brightly at you. You simply looked away from her finishing what you were going to say.

"He kissed me then made me leave. He's now also changed the appointments we have to another nurse" you said swallowing thickly. You finally looked back to her as she gripped your shoulders tightly. Her face showing anger and frustration as her brows nit together.

"He did what" she said trying not to yell. She pulled you into a comforting hug before standing up and going to your wardrobe.

"What are you doing?" You said feeling slightly  more calm at her being angry in your place. She ruffled through your wardrobe before pulling out a tight fitting black lace dress with long sleeves but was just as short as the dress you wore everyday.

"We are going to get you cheered up and back to your self while making him regret what he did in the process" she said holding the dress out to you. You gave her a puzzled look and she continued. "We are going drinking at the bar onboard and we are going to have fun. Spock will probably be there due to him always being dragged by bones, Kirk and scotty after work to have some drinks."

You were baffled by the plan but her persistence made you let out a soft chuckle and sigh. God you loved this girl like she was you sister for all she did for you. " fine but I can't drink to much I have work tomorrow" you said standing up and moving to the bathroom to change as Uhura chucked looking for something she could wear.
