What does one do in a war time? Well, the brave would say to fight. The cowards could say to run or perhaps hide. Of course, cowardice and bravery all depends on the situation. Now, while all the Fae and fairy folk were preparing to fight Cancer, along with most other land creatures, two particular species had run into a certain roadblock.

It's very hard to fight a witch on the mainland with only a tail and gills.

So while the land creatures prepared to attack Cancers castle, the sirens and mermaids were preparing to defend any and all woodland children. This meant many creatures would be sent there instead of fighting, with special precautions after what had happened to Taurus.

Many of the pixies had already been gathering their children into small boats to be taken across the water ways.

There were some children that were being allowed to fight on the account that they would join Cancer's side if not allowed. This included Aries, Gemini, and Capricorn. Of course, Taurus would be willing to fight as well if he wasn't currently being held captive.

The Merfolk and sirens had put most of the water children into an underwater cave that no witch would to get to. If the lack of air couldn't catch up to her, then the pressure would.

The land kids would be put into the cave as well, but in an underwater bubble that would be specially crafted through witch and fairy magic. Many were uneasy about the idea of putting them in one place, but the alternative was clear: there was none.

Pisces has taken the lead, somehow. He had no prior training in leading a defensive war except for reading a lot on World War II in his past life. So the fate of the forest rested on the shoulders of a 17 year old merman.

He swam around giving out orders and such. That is, until, he saw Aries sitting on a rock and staring out into the main land. He swam over and leaned next to her.

"What's up?" He asked.

"I'm afraid, I suppose. There's too much pressure," she signed, clawing at her necklace.

"You are one of the bravest mermaids here, Aries. You saved your sister."

Aries nodded absentmindedly. "She wouldn't have needed saving if I took the time to teach her to swim. She kept asking me and we lived on a damn beach."

"We all make mistakes. Besides, we need someone like you. You can fight. Most of the rest of us would give up," Pisces said.

Aries snorted and they sat in silence for just a moment.

"I wonder," Aries mused, "what it would be like to rule the world."

Her companion sat back slowly and nodded, as if he too contemplated this thought. "I'd imagine it would be quite lonely."

"If you had the opportunity would you?"

"Would I what?"

"Rule the world," she clarified.

"I would like to think I would try my best not to," Pisces said. "But sometimes I feel like in past life I had that option, and I can't quite recall what I chose."

"I wonder how many lives I've lived," she signed.

"I like to think we'd known each other in a lifetime or two ago," he said with a grin. "Maybe in a whole separate world."
