Sagittarius watched as Gemini and Leo morphed. They grew taller, and taller, and taller and suddenly Virgo and Capricorn were getting flashbacks to the little girl that kidnapped them. Suddenly, they were face to face, eye level with the one they used to call friend.
Sagittarius continued releasing arrows, but kept an eye on his fae friends. He had never before seen them at full power and the thought scared him; he had seen the corruption that came with making their deals, but feared the consequences of them exerting their full power. He heard Gemini cackle.
"I always did like the way I looked when I could shapeshift," Gemini mused. Her hair flickered from white to blue to pink and back to white again. Leo rolled his eyes.
"You always end up looking like you always do anyways," he muttered.
Gemini shrugged. "I'm classic."
Ophiuchus screeched as more plants encapsulated her. Taurus and Cassie were getting weary.
"A little help would be nice?" Taurus shouted.
Gemini flashed him a smile. "Of course, little one."
Taurus flushed. "You were my height not two minutes ago!"
Gemini fluttered her wings. She wasn't used to be so tall, especially with her wings being revealed. Whenever she went to the human world they had to remain hidden. She cracked her knuckles, altering her eye color from black to green to blue to brown and back to black. She grinned at Leo, who had been stretching. The two of them made eye contact; this was where they began, this is where they would take their final stand.
Ophiuchus had been gaining ground and gaining fast. Taurus and Cass were growing weaker and weaker, and they could feel minor earthquakes shaking them. Gemini and Leo fluttered their wings and prepared pixie dust bombs.
"Where the hell is your boyfriend? We could really use those stupid tap dancing circles right now!" Gemini shouted, dropping pixie dust on Ophiuchus, causing more and more plants to engulf her.
Leo coughed as he tied Ophiuchus up with some vines. "That's a good question. I'm assuming with Pisces and Aries."
Sagittarius glanced back to see the three of them missing and sighed. If this was about to become one of Aquarius' overthrow-the-government schemes, he knew they would be screwed.
----------------------------
"Okay, so this is overthrow-the-government scheme #132," Aquarius explained to Pisces and Aries. The two merpeople exchanged skeptical glanced at each other. Aquarius had dragged them through the woods for what may be his stupidest plan yet.
Aquarius looked up at their quizzical expressions and sighed. "Look, I know nobody takes these plans seriously. Hell, nobody in this place takes me seriously either. But there has to be more to this world than the in between. Change sometimes needs a push, it needs a fire, other times it needs a water. There is a forest fire here, and its name is Ophiuchus. You guys know water, you know how it ebbs and flows. You're well acquainted with change in all of its forms. All I ask is that we utilize that to save the forest."
Pisces glanced over the plans, pursed his lips, but nodded. "This is our home. It's the only home we have left, so you bet your fairy ass that we're going to save it."
Aries rolled her eyes, but smirked. "Oh come on, Aqua. Did you really think we weren't going to help you?"
Aquarius blinked. "Yeah."
Aries shook with joy. "We always have your back."
Aquarius smiled. "I've got yours too. Okay, so the plan: The Elder is hiding out with the kids in the bay. We need to kidnap him, and make him bind Ophiuchus back to fae laws and regulations. After that, we should be all good."
