If only I had known Sam much earlier, I would have never wondered why I didn't have any interest in other girls. I really had a great time talking to her and it felt like it was a first date. She was easy to get along with and knowing some details about her made me more comfortable being with her. It was too early to be confident though; just because she told me some details about her didn't mean that she already trusted me. I couldn't keep my eyes off her and I noticed that she looked like she was looking for something.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Huh? Nothing, just don't mind me." I noticed the sudden change in the expression on her face. She seemed sad.

"Really? I don't think it was just nothing. You seemed to be looking for something. You checked the things on this table and you also checked the flower vase."

"Well, okay, you got me. Actually, I was looking for a sticky note. I used to write something and then leave it on this table."

"Do you always do that?"

"Not really. But before, I left one on this table and someone left a reply on it. I was trying to find out if he left a reply again."

"He? So you've been writing a note with a guy?"

"Yeah, sort of. I'm really fascinated about it. He seemed nice based on his words."

"People are usually nice during first meetings Sam and you haven't even met him. You'll only see someone's true colors if you look closely beneath the surface."

"I guess you're right. It's just sad that he didn't leave a reply today."

"What if he won't leave a reply again? What if he wanted to just meet you and talk to you in person instead?"

"What if he will? What if he prefers to be mysterious first before showing himself?"

"Alright, you win. But before this conversation goes somewhere else, there's something I wanted to tell you."

"What is it?"

"Well, I don't really know how to tell you but. . ."

"Riiiinnnggggg"

"Sorry Seb, I have to answer this call."

"No worries, go ahead."

Just when I was about to tell Sam that the guy who left a reply on her sticky note was me, somebody phoned her. It looked like it was going to be a long way for me to tell her the truth. There were two things that she must know, the replies on her sticky notes and the journal. Will she be happy about it if she found out that the guy was me? Or not? But I know that I have to tell her soon before it's too late.

"I'm sorry, the call was something urgent. What is it again?"

"Nothing, don't worry. It's not that important anyway."

"Okay. So, I'm going to the bookshop in a while, until what time will you be here?"

"Not that long, I might go as well after you. I still have to prepare for the company meeting later. Anyway, here's my calling card. Just let me know if you need some help or maybe someone to talk to?"

"We're really friends now. Thank you so much! I'll make it up to you next time."

"My pleasure Sam."

"I got to go. See you later."

"Bye Sam." She was almost at the door when she looked back while rolling her eyes.

"I hate goodbyes. I don't do byes."

"You're really something else, see you soon then?"

"That's much better. See you!" Then she was gone.

I was left on the table all alone, trying to figure out how to make things easier for me to tell Sam everything. I looked outside and I saw a young couple; the woman carries the baby in her arms while the guy holds the umbrella above them. They looked so happy and I wondered if it would be the same with me if I decided to build my own family. I must start to take things seriously if I'm going to build my own family. No more playing games; every decision must have a purpose. But how could I be the right guy for Sam? I must not worry about the things beyond my control though. It won't help.

I went back home to take some rest before the company meeting. It was such a lovely morning and I never really thought that I could have breakfast with Sam without having to formally ask her for it. Was it too early to ask her out? I wondered if she would like it if I asked her out on a date. She might think I'm taking advantage of her situation. What should I do? I've never asked a girl out on a date, if only my brother is here. He will surely give me some tips about it.

There's no doubt now, I'm really in love with Sam. I hope she will remember to message me somehow. Should I tell Tia about her? Maybe Andy? I guess it's much better to tell my brother first since he's an expert when it comes to relationships. I took out my phone and dialed Xander's number. Unfortunately, he's not answering so I decided to send him a message instead.

"I need your help. I already found her!"

I tossed my mobile on the sofa as soon as I saw that my message was sent. I closed my eyes to relax my mind for a bit. A couple of minutes passed when I noticed the notification on my mobile. It was a reply from Xander.

"The one? Are you sure about this? I want to know the full details and maybe we could sit for it over coffee. I'm sorry I couldn't pick up when you phoned, I was in the middle of a business meeting. This is supposed to be a surprise but I'll let you know anyway, I'll be there on Saturday. I'll meet you in the airport when I arrive. See you soon!"

I didn't expect him to come so soon but I would love to have him around. I needed some help with Sam and I hope my next step would help me achieve what I'm hoping for. I want to ask her out for a real date and be her man.
