"Where to first? Food? Dress shopping?" Titus asked checking the time on his phone."Uhhh-I think I'm actually going to skip the dress shopping for today. I have a closet filled with dresses that still have the tags on them. Besides it's only dinner. I can just wear one of those-it's not like he'll notice anyway." Athena muttered halfheartedly trying to blend into the crowd of shoppers.
But unfortunately for Athena, that small dream of hers was shortly lived by the feeling on Titus's large calloused fingers wrapping themselves around her wrist and pulling her back to his side-and back to her own wretched reality.
"Alright," he said tightening his grip, "...where are we going?" Titus asked stopping them in the middle of the walkway-immediately catching the attention of a few bystanders.
"Sephora? I-I need a few things."
"Good, lets go." Titus announced as he pulled Athena through throng of shoppers.
Seconds later they stood in front of the brightly lit store-with it's playlist of pop-and catchy tunes spilling from its speakers.
And immediately they were greeted by a warm smile and an oh so familiar face.
"Titus? Athe-Oh my God Athena-you're back. I can't belie-OH MY GOD! I have to tell Claudia that you're here." Brandy stated happily-grabbing Athena's hand and more or less pulling her towards the checkout counter, "CLAUDIA! CLAUDIA, LOOK WHO I FOUND!" Brandy loudly shrieked catching the attention of a few curious customers.
At the sound of someone yelling her name, Claudia's face began to turn redder than Rudolph's nose on a foggy Christmas night at all the curious eyes aimed in her direction.
But when her eyes land on Athena's smiling face and Titus's usual stoic features-trailing behind a grinning Brandy, Claudia couldn't help the large smile that made its way onto her own lips.
"Claudia! Look who it is!" Brandy exclaimed giddily.
"I see." Claudia laughed at Brandy's excitment, "You can go back to the front. I've got it from here. Thank-you Brandy." Claudia smiled.
"You're welcome." Brandy gleefully cheered before giving Athena a big hug and prancing back to her spot at the front of the store-where she happily greeted a handful of customers.
"It's been a minute. For a second there, I almost thought that you had forgotten about us over here." Claudia grinned playfully.
"Oh-no-never," Athena beamed, "I was just busy with some things, and I-what the hell are those?" Athena questioned with a raised eyebrow, cutting off her own sentence as she watched Claudia reach underneath the front counter and pull out several bags.
"This-" she grunted pulling out the last bag, "-this is your usual." Claudia explained a bit out of breath.
"My usual?" Athena asked-confusion written all over her face as she leaned over the counter to peer inside the multiple bags contents.
"Yeah...well-its just that I've noticed every time you come in you-you always buy the same things. Like-um...you-you always buy like four things of foundation. Three cases of setting powder. Two bottles of setting spray. Five containers of concealer. Three tubes of mascara and eyeliner-both pencil and liquid. Two jars of highlighter, and four sticks of nude lipstick." Claudia said slightly embarrassed and a little fearful that she may have crossed a line of some sort.
"Oh...wow that's-um...thanks? Do I really get that much stuff when I come here?" Athena asked a little wide eyed at her long list of purchases.
"Yes." Both Titus and Claudia say at the same time.
