Outside Axel, somewhere in the fields...
I marched across the grassy fields following the hooded Megumin with her worn-down staff.
"Chikao?" called the voice behind me.
"Yeah?" I said without looking back.
"Do we really need to train with this Crimson meanie?" asked the impolite Potion.
Just as I was about to reply...
"I heard that!" shouted Megumin, quite annoyed.
I tried to calm Megumin down by patting her shoulder.
"Ease up, Megumin. No time to act pissed," I told her.
"Sigh. Okay then."
Megumin continued walking, clenching her staff tighter with each step.
"Potion, we need to train with her, okay? No questions asked."
"Why the hell do we need to do it with her? Why not me? I can teach you everything there is to know about adventuring. I am the damn genius after all!" she boasted.
"Yeah, sure. And who again was the one that nearly got us killed in our first quest?"
Potion kept silent.
"Well, who was it?"
Potion didn't say anything.
"I thought so..."
"HMPH!"
Oh, speaking of Potion...
"Hey, Potion?"
"Yeah, dummy?"
"That's Chikao to you, alchemist. Anyway, how did you heal me with your hands before? You can't do magic, right?"
"Well, I'm a bloody genius. Best of the best. Not even a thing such as "no mana" can stop me. I figured out how to carry instant health potions in the hand without actually carrying any! No glass bottles. No liquids to carry. All you'll be carrying is your hands. The healing effect will be in your hands without the use for/of mana," explained Potion as we walked.
I could see Megumin was intrigued by this. Her ears seemed to perk up.
"Really?" Megumin started. "Then, how would that work?"
"Well, I'm glad you asked..."
Are these two, actually getting along?
"You see, all you have to do is drink the potion beforehand like before a trip. For example, you drink two of my special "No Carry Potion Healing Potion" the magic effect of the potion is instantly stored in your hands. If you drink two, you can heal anyone two times. And when you drink three, same deal. So, anyway, it will be easier on the inventory of solo adventurers that can't heal or parties without any healers. They won't need to buy "real" potions. No more weighing down their bags with glass and liquid. They can just drink up, store it, and use it for later."
"Ahhhhh..." sounded Megumin. "Quite impressive."
This would be quite a advancement to adventuring, I must say.
"That's amazing! Then, if that's the case. Then, why did you chant stuff like 'Healing! Higher Healing! Lower Healing! Mediocre Healing! Superior Healing!' while you were healing me back then?" I asked.
"Oh, that was just for show," she explained.
"Huh?"
"I wanted to look cool. I saw that that's how Healers do it. So, I copied them to make my healing look cooler."
