It had been 3 years since Enar slayed the frost troll and saved his village from the catastrophe. He still remembers it clearly.
His father was so proud of him. He was no longer recognized as a mere boy, but a young warrior. Eske, the same. However, many questions arose from different people after this small adventure. Enar wondered how his brother was so good at shooting his bow. He was teaching him to hunt but he seemed to shoot more accurately than most archers in the villiage.
Eske questioned the ice spear his brother wielded, and so did most of the villagers who witnessed the battle. Rumors spread across the villiage, but most just thought it superstitious. His spear, however, had melted inside the beasts neck before anyone could further investigate.
Enar was given a new spear, one of steel. It was engraved and carved with beautiful runes and symbols. None of them had an ancient meaning, but they sure looked mystical.
Shortly after that day, Enar was sent to a faction know as the Iron Claw. Here he would train and become an even better warrior. The Iron Claw was a mercenary faction, meaning they got a lot of money. They did have a code of honor, but each warrior is entitled to their own contracts and choices thereof. Enar's first year wasn't much to look at, just constant training. The second year wasn't great either, just lots of menial tasks and hunts. Luckily, he did have Gunther with him. Gunther was a year older, but didn't get much more privilege. He did miss his family, and wondered how they were doing.
One thing Enar was glad about, was when he returned to the forest and found the bear still there. He skinned it for its fur and then buried it. There was so much fur from the bear, he could probably craft three cloaks from them.
Enar had thought deep over these past events as he laid in his bed. It was morning, the sun had just rose. Gunther was still snoring in the bed at the other side of the room. Enar was just about to get up when someone came crashing through the door.
"Wake your lazy arse up! We have a job for you two, and this time, it'll be worth it." Said Fjordur, or Ford, their mentor and close friend."Last time you said that, we killed an army of rats in the basement of a tavern. Don't give us hope." Enar replied.
"This is different. You've been given a contract to attack a small bandit camp. It isn't far from here actually."
"Huh, a nice change of pace."
"Yup, and it will be just you two, so don't get too cocky."
Enar got up and woke up Gunther. He got dressed and equipped his spear. Gunther did the same, grabbing his two axes. Gunther had taken a lot from the beating he recieved from Red. Of course, Enar never told anyone about that cave encounter with him, not even Eske. Gunther was a furious fighter. His code was: "Strike first, fast, and furiously." Gunther was already unpredictable with his easy flowing feintd, but now he was even better with that.
The two left their room and Went to the mess hall where they ate breakfast
"So you guys finally got a real mission? Lucky you!" Vala said as she sat with them.
Vala was slightly younger than Enar, however, she had been in the guild for longer than both Enar and Gunther, so she got better missions."You act as if we are inexperienced Vala. Remember that I have defeatet you several times, and that the reason I'm here is that I killed a troll. A frost one at that."
"Our duel wins are equal, but we should have a tie breaker soon."
"So eager to lose? Gunther, what's on your mind? You seem quiet."
Gunther sat there looking down
"Nothing, let's just finish and get to the mission."Enar looked at Vala and she looked back at him
