'Josie's on a vacation far away' Robin merged lanes, some dude riding his bumper made him curse and speed up a little to create a distance.
'Come around and talk it over' Robin used the steering wheel as a drum, nodding his head to the beat of the song coming out of his brand new car radio.
'So many things that I wanna say' After passing a Beacon Hills sign, he merged onto the exit ramp, rubbing at his chest when it tightened. He so did not want to be here. He pulled into a familiar driveway.
'You know I like my girls a little bit older' Robin sighed, leaning over to grab his phone that had fallen off the center console of his car when he took a turn a little too harshly about two miles back.
'I just wanna use your love tonight' He unplugged the aux cord before the song could really start and cut the engine. Leaning back in his seat he sighed, running a hand through his hair, a habit he had when he was stressed.
He heavily debated on whether or not he was going to go in. On one hand, there's a bed calling his name in the house 20 feet from his car. On the other hand, there are people inside the house; people he hadn't seen in years.
Ugh. People. He thought, glaring a little at the steering wheel despite it doing nothing wrong. He sighed again, running his hand over his face. Reaching over, he grabbed the rather small duffel bag from the back seat and finally got out of the car.
He could hear the shouting from inside about seven feet from the door. He didn't mean to listen, but whoever was yelling was just so loud.
"Scott! All that's gonna do is make the boy curious! He's 17 for god's sake! Do you remember how curious you were at 17?!" Whoever was yelling was right, Robin was 17 but that didn't mean he gave a crap about what his cousin got up to; he couldn't care less.
Well, maybe, but that's beside the point.
Before the yelling would continue, Robin reached over and rang the doorbell. It took a moment, and it definitely sounded like someone fell over, but no one was on the floor when Scott finally opened the door, just some kid sitting on the stairs.
"Robin?" Scott actually had to look up a little. Robin nodded once, giving an awkward wave before shoving both hands in his pockets.
"Wassup." It wasn't really a question, just an acknowledgment as he stepped past Scott and into the house.
It took him a beat, his eyebrows furrowed as he stared at Robin for a moment but when the boy on the stairs coughed awkwardly, Scott shook his head and closed the door.
"You're Robin?" The kid on the staircase raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, problem?" he wasn't trying to be harsh but sometimes it just slips out. The boy flinched at the cold tone in his voice and Robin frowned. The boy didn't give a second thought to the accent that Robin had as he looked down.
"No," he muttered. Before Robin had a chance to apologize, the boy stood and clumsily stepped to the door, saying something that sounded like a see you later to Scott.
"Stiles," Scott grabbed his wrist, "I'll see you later tonight, yeah?"
Stiles nodded with an awkward smile and was out the door. Scott turned to Robin not frowning, just curious.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude to your boyfriend or whatever, it just slips-" he was cut off by Scott waving his hands wildly and repeating the word no.
"He's not my boyfriend, just my best friend. He's like my brother."
"Oh."
"Yeah."
A moment passed by awkwardly before Scott sighed and shouted up the stairs.
"MOM!"
Scott missed the way Robin flinched and brought his hand up to scratch at his wrist. A few more minutes passed before Melissa came down the stairs, when she spotted Robin she smiled, albeit a little hesitantly.
"Hey, Robin," She finished the stairs and before she could initiate it herself, Robin had grabbed her in a hug.
"Hey, Aunt Mel." Just because he was a troublemaker, didn't mean he had no manners. This woman was willing to take him in for a whole year despite what he'd done to end up needing a place to stay.
Apparently, one hug was all that was needed for Melissa, because all signs of hesitance were gone from her face when she pulled away and turned to Scott.
"Show him the guest bedroom, alright?"
"Yes, ma'am," he waved two fingers in a mock salute before starting up the stairs, Robin just behind him.
"What do you boys want for dinner?" Both of them turned to her. Robin held up his bag.
"I'm probably just gonna unpack and crash, I had some Maccas on the way here."
Melissa frowned at the small bag, "Is that all you brought?"
"This is all I own." He said it so carefree, that she almost didn't care. Almost.
"Alrighty then, Scott?" She turned, that was so not the end of that topic, but now was not the time, Robin looked like was going to crash any moment.
"Pizza?" His eyes lit up hopefully making his mother roll her eyes.
"I'll see what I can do."

A/N: Dudes, I've had English Love Affair on repeat for like four days. What song do you keep listening to?
Sorry for another update on the same chapter I am working on the others, but I re-read this one and there were a few things that I needed to fix.
