𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞. ▍ You take her in the back of Xavier's van, it's her first time so she's nervous but you reassure her everything will be fine but Montana, Chet, and Ray kind of interrupt and Brooke gets all shy so you have to comfort her.

No one would ever know that we were gone. All the others were having their jazzercise class in the other cabin and I feigned an illness all day so Brooke would have an excuse to slip away. I told her my plan earlier when she visited me in my bed while Nurse Rita was off getting me some cold medicine. She was hesitant but agreed to at least try out my plan. Before Rita could overhear us, Brooke stood up like she'd been struck by lightning and bid me a casual goodbye.

So I snuck out of the room once Rita thought I was out for the night and left me alone. The other cabins would all be locked or there would be other people in them who could hear us. Our, mostly my, agreement was to meet in the parking lot. Brooke must've thought that I meant we'd use one of the cars to head into town for a few hours because now I realized she wouldn't have agreed to this had she known my true intention—sneaking into Xavier's van.

I leaned up against it, making sure that I stood in front of one of the tires so no one would see my legs from the underside of the car. A few minutes passed as I waited for her. I killed time by staring through the tree line and towards the darkly-shimmering lake. Xavier wasn't the sharpest tool, he never noticed me grabbing his set of keys from his nightstand earlier this morning when he was half-asleep. I pocketed them and now I had a seamless means for getting into his van.

"Hey, where are we going?" Brooke's voice asked softly as she swung over to lean on the van beside me.

"Nowhere." I said with a smile, swinging Xavier's key ring on my finger.

Her mouth fell agape, "Y/N no, he'll kill us and we're so close to camp that people might notice."

"Only if you're very loud." I winked, turning around and unlocking the van's sliding side doors.

Brooke kept protesting in whispers from behind me but climbed in to continue her argument and make sure that I wouldn't get in trouble. I slid the door shut behind her and sat at one side of the van's bench seats. She placed herself on the opposite side with a frown very evident on her face and arms crossed over her chest.

"Listen, do you want to do this with me?" I asked.

"Yeah." She blushed.

"Then trust me. Everyone's busy and they won't know about it. Now the longer you take to try persuading me to drive us somewhere else is time we're losing before they figure something out."

"Okay, fine. I'll try to stay quiet." Brooke bargained, sighing with relief before a new anxiety tormented her ceaseless mind.

I slid down to the carpet-covered floor and pulled the brunette down to join me, guiding her body to lie down while I sat up beside her. Her brown eyes looked like pools of honey, staring up at me in nervous anticipation and affirming the trust she felt towards me. Slowly, I reached for the hem of her pastel-pink sweater and eased it over her head before doing the same with my own shirt. Before she had much time to try concealing herself in bashfulness, I leaned down to kiss her. She seemed shocked by it at first then placed her hands on my shoulders in support.

Brooke was undoubtedly a sweet person with a backbone—she would try anything to please you but never let that overpower her own values and safety. It was like activating a switch. You just had to press the right buttons to make that confidence appear before your eyes. Like now: she was just as fervent as I was and really seemed to shine in the exposed privacy of the moment despite only having the dim overhead car light.

I slid down slightly towards her waist and this time she didn't look so nervous. She arched her back up a little bit to make my job easier. My fingers toyed with the edge of her jeans and looped through the beltloops, just about to pull them down. We were interrupted by the sound of the sliding doors being pulled open and I defensively positioned myself in front of Brooke as she scrambled to grab her sweater.

"Hey, what do we have here?" Montana asked, smiling to herself because she knew we had a thing.

"Fuck off." I warned, knowing how uncomfortable this kind of thing made Brooke feel.

"What? Do you guys want some help?" Ray offered jokingly, Chet laughing along with him.

"No, leave us alone and we'll get out. Damn you guys are dumb."

"Y/N, we're not trying to be rude. But you better get out of here before Xav finds out." Chet mentioned, motioning back to the camp.

I nodded and slammed the door shut just slow enough for them to dodge it. Immediately, my gaze went to Brooke who looked like a frightened puppy. She had the sleeves of her sweater on her arms but hadn't gotten the chance to fully slip it back on yet. Her eyes kept staring at the floor in shame, not wanting to meet anyone else's gaze.

"Hey, Brooke-"

"No, Y/N, I know what you're going to say and I'm fine."

"Brooke, don't worry about them. I've caught every single one of them in the act before and they barely saw anything at all. Besides, what are they going to do? It's not like they don't sneak into each other's cabins and hook up almost every night. The worst they can do is tell Xavier I took his van's keys and that's entirely my fault. Get out there with your head held high and they won't dare to bother you about this."

Brooke seemed to somewhat unwillingly accept my advice. She left the van before me and made her way back to camp while I locked up Xavier's precious vehicle. He got pretty pissed off at me when I threw his keys back at him but I joked that he shouldn't be so attached to a stinky old van.

I didn't think I made much of an influence on Brooke. From that moment, when she seemed to question herself, she would suddenly change her mentality and hold her ground proudly. When I asked her about it later, Brooke told me that it was the advice I gave her after the three other counselors caught us in Xavier's van. She felt like she could control the damage people inflicted on her by acting un-attackable so people tended not to bother her. I was immensely proud of her and myself.
