Chapter VII

VICE FOR VARS

Its was12 o’clock sharp, the KOOL PRINCESSES were at the cafeteria, eating their lunch… while, eating they talked about their day out. “Yesterday was really fun!” Marj started. “Yah! I enjoy the movie, it was so nice... the girl and the boy…” Heart said. “Yah! They just dreamed about each other but later meet on the real world.” Marj commented, but it seems to them that the two other girls were silent. “Waah! You two still both have a hang-over? Right?” Marj said. “Hang-over?” repeated Gella. “Of course not!” said her. “Hmm… deny! You still didn’t recover!” Heart said as usual. “You can catch our basketball practice; can I have your no?” Heart teased. “Shut up!” both Gella and Trix reacted but they were blushing. “But actually they’re cute and admit it you were glad ‘coz you didn’t have to pay for ticket!” Gella said. “Hmm, maybe…” then they laughed but the bells rang! “Class time again! Hmmp! I’m tired of this!” Marj said. “Me, too…” all agreed. It was their Physics class, when their instructor came in… “Class, we have a transfer student Katie! I hope you treat her nicely and know her better.” Katie has a charming look, nice, intelligent poise, tidy and clean, not bad to be – friends with but not all good – looking is good. She settled herself near Trix and she was sort of looking around, then “class, just stay here, I will have to go to the deans’ office for awhile…” then Mr. Santiago left. Suddenly, Katie approached Trix, “Hey! I’m Katie and you are?” Katie said. I’m Trix and by the way these are my friends Gella, Heart and Marj.” Answer Trix. “Nice meeting you.” Katie said in a nice, friendly voice. The class waited for Mr. Santiago to come back but there was no sign of him, then the school bell rang, it’s dismiss! All students’ hurried to go out. Then on Trix’s way out, she saw Raffy at the door. “Hey! What are you doing here?” Trix asked “can you watch badminton practice with me?” asked Raffy. “Yah! Sure.” While on behind, Katie was there, she saw Raffy and she LIKED him at first sight. “So, Raffy, take care of our Trix, Okay! And you? Behave!” instructed Marj and Heart. “Duh?! As if! You take care! Bye…” then went off. But then they weren’t alone together 'coz Katie was following them. Then as Trix and Raffy sit at the benches, a jealous, envied and vain face is seen with Katie and it was like she has something on mind.

The following day, actually, first thing in the morning at the school grounds while waiting for class, Katie showed up all of the sudden. “HI GIRLS! What’s up?!” she greeted as if she was close. The four girls were sort of confused, they thought she is their classmate but she’s not their friend. But then as a sign of being friendly they greeted her back. Then they thought she was out of the scene, but instead she sat with them. Tried to make herself comfortable and make herself part of the group. The four girls felt uncomfortable; there has never been anyone that was able to chat with them.

That day was really a spooky day for them, thinking of the thought that someone who is not welcome, invites herself in! But then they thought it was just for that day. But what they thought is wrong the following day Katie was always at their back, UNAVOIDABLE! In the cafeteria, Katie was still there! “Why is she following us? Why is she even with us?” whispered Gella to Marj. “I don’t know! She’s irritating!” Marj said then Trix interrupted, “Guyz, maybe she just needs company, a friend.” “Fine!” then they seek for a chair that can accommodate 5 people while eating; they tired to make themselves comfortable with Katie. But then she was really irritating, “we should hang-out together at the mall! Watch movie, arcade and whatever…” she said “hmm it would be nice, I guess…” Heart said. Then Raffy showed up, “Hi, girls, hi----” he greeted but she was interrupted by Katie… Katie stood up and flirtingly introduced herself to Raffy… “Hi, I’m Katie… I’m their new friend … and you are??” Raffy was kind of shock and irritated. “I’m Raffy… Excuse me… Hi Trix! Would you want to watch my game, later?” she asked. “Yah, sure!” Trix answered. “Can I watch too?! I love basketball!” Katie said “It’s a badminton game.” Said Raffy, who wanted to laugh. “Yah, Badminton, I love badminton. Can I watch?” said her “Yah, if you want to.” Then looked at Trix,” so Trix, see you…” then an angry face was seen with Katie, she really does like Raffy. And on the following days, it seems that Katie wanted to be a Kool Princesses, she goes with them everywhere, every time… then suddenly, she was getting close with Raffy… one day, :Katie… can you tell Trix to meet me at the badminton court at 6 o’clock… I have something to tell her…” Raffy said. Katie felt so jealous, ‘coz she felt something fishy… in the school grounds, Marj, Heart, Gella and Trix was there when Katie showed up. She looked at Trix, but instead of telling Trix what Raffy said, she didn’t. One hour, two hours, three hours passed she still didn’t tell Trix, and then it was already 6 o’clock. Katie acted so strangely, “let’s go home! C’mon… let’s go…” Katie said “Why are you so in a hurry?” Trix asked “No, nothing... nothing…” and so then, Trix was set – off for home. While on the badminton court, Raffy is being stood up, then Katie came… “Raffy!” “Katie, where’s Trix?” “She said she couldn’t come, she’s busy… and she even murmured that you’re just a disturbance.” “No, way! She didn’t say… she’s not like that.” “But she did.” Then Raffy looked sad, Katie tried to comfort him as if she wanted his attention to be converted to her, but instead Raffy walked out. Katie, who was left behind, felt so angry, sad neglected and everything a rejected girl would feel. And on the following day, Trix saw Raffy but she felt bad when Raffy ignored her. She didn’t know what’s wrong. But Katie who was with Trix that time felt good, instead of feeling bad. Raffy continued to ignore Trix, for days and what’s worst is Katie is always with Raffy. “Hey, Katie!” called Marj. But instead of a smile, she got herself a grin then, “I really don’t have time. I still have to meet Raffy. Bye.” Said her, Marj didn’t felt embarrassed or so but she felt mad. Then Ryan showed up… “Hey, what’s wrong? You looked mad?” said he “she’s really up to something… she’s going out with Raffy, what about Trix?” said her. “Hey! Are you with me??” Ryan said “Hey, Ryan can you do me a favor, are you friends with Raffy?” “Yah, sort of” “Can you ask him what’s up between him and Katie.” “Okay” then Ryan went away. Then, Marj asked Trix what’s wrong with Raffy and her. Trix told them that Raffy was ignoring her for days and since then he is always with Katie. Then they came up with conclusion… “So Katie plotted this! She like Raffy, so she became friends with us… that jerk!” Marj reacted. Then Ryan called up, “come here at the badminton court, something’s happening…” so the 4 girls hurried to the court, there they saw Raffy and Katie, Fighting… “Trix doesn’t like you, she didn’t even showed up last time at the badminton court!” then Trix entered the scene. “Because I didn’t know!” “What?!” Raffy exclaimed. “I didn’t know you were waiting for me.” “But I told Katie to tell you.” “Well, she didn’t.” then they both looked at Katie. “Fine! I didn’t! Sorry… I just like you.” then she went away. The court became quiet for awhile then, “so why did you wait for me?” “I just wanted to tell you that…” “That?!” “C’mon Raffy, tell it!” Gella interrupted. “I like you…” the three girls were so “kilig” also Trix but she was shocked then --- the school bell rang… Trix hurried to ran away… “Hey! Don’t you have any answer?!” Raffy shouted. Then Trix shouted for reply. “I like you too!” then that’s it….
