Cookie Cutter

One after the other
We follow society's cookie cutter.
It's just another repeating pattern
And honestly, I'm just looking for the ladder
To escape this endless paradox.
I don't want to stand up on a soapbox
And try and spread my words
I just don't want to be apart of this herd
That's being lead to their slaughter.
I just want to live unbothered.
For once I want to make my own damn choice,
And have my own goddamn voice.

It's birth, school, more school, work, have kids, die
And I really don't want to seem like the bad guy,
But no one ever becomes someone following that path,
And if they want to call me a psychopath
Go ahead because if my theory is crazy and messes with your brain
Then I don't want to be sane.

I'm tired of watching friends feel like failures
Because I can't be their savior.
The system they're in is rigged against them
Because every person is given the same cookie cutter outcome.

This system isn't a way of life
It's how we are controlled.
Underneath the blade of societies knife
To fit right into their mold.
