Chapter 8

Ace's POV

It's now lunch time. I got my stuff walking to the grand hall for lunch. " Ace wait up! " I turn around to see Sam. I stop as the petite girl came to my side. " You just suddenly left mehhh " She said giving an adorable pout. I blush looking away " S-Sorry " I stutter continue to walk " Is something the matter? " she ask looking at me with concern " Nothings wrong Sam " I gave her a small smile she gave me a bright one back nodding " Alrighty! If you say so! " She said " Come on! Get a move on! I'm starving! " I laugh at her statement comming beside her. We walked toward the grand hall laughing at a stupid joke I made. We sat side by side having myself some mashed potato while Sam had some bread. " Are you sure your gonna be stuffed by just bread? " I ask she nodded
" Yeah..." I frown giving her a plate of mashed potato and steak " Aceeeee " I gave her a serious look " Eat " I said in a serious tone, she pout starting to eat the food " Good Girl " I chuckle patting her head she scoff swating my hand away making me laugh louder. The others soon joined in Jospeh taking a seat beside me. " Hey Ace? " He said in a whisper tone I turn to look at him with a confused look " Do you like Sam? " I almost chock on my food " Ace whats wrong? " Sam ask worried I took a glass of water drinking from it " I-I'm fine " I said gasping for air. Sam nodded turning to her food.
" I- I don't fancy her okay? " I said blushing. Jospeh gave me a smirk " It's very obvious Ace no need to deny it since first day... wow love at first sight I ship you both " He said in a still whisper tone I stay quiet... I do like her damn this emotions. I know for sure that she doesn't return the feelings toward me. I sigh eating my food silently.

It's now time for the the strength examination or SE ( It's like PE this subject is where they battle to test thier strength in magical abilities ) I am currently at the locker room changing into my SE uniform. Once finished we proceeded to the gym. The girls already sat in the middle I took a seat beside Joseph as Ms. Flores who is our class advisor explained the mechanics. " As you all know it is important to improve once magical ability and with this subject you will increase fight and magical ability. We will activate fighting robots that will serve as your opponent with this we see how you well is your usage of ability and magic energy " She said smiling. I look around me my eyes landing on a certain winter manipilator who's eyes gleamed with exitement and determination. I can't help but smile just looking at her determined face.  " Ofcourse We will start with you Ms. Salvador since you are new here " Sam eyes widden nodding. We all sat in the bleachers. Sam positioned herself in the middle " Now Ms. Samantha we will test your fighting and magical skills, the fight starts is three, two, one! " With that fighting robots surrounded her. I watch cautiously awating to see her use her magic you can do it Sam. The robot attacked but Sam dodges flipping backward lading gracefully
" Wow where did she learned to fight? " Nash ask watching Sam punch down a fighting robot. Damn she ain't hurt to punch metal? Ian chuckled " Well... Mom did taught her skills " He said simply. " She's punching metal how does she do that? " Athena gawk looking at Ian for an answer " Well, when she was seven she practice on punching steel... so now she feels nothing thats what she told me until now she do " He explain casually. I watch as she kick the robot hard " Use your magic Sam! " Sky shouted I can tell from her tone that she is too eager to witness her magic. Sam continue to punch, kick and dodge the robots. Until she was surrounded with alot of Roborts. " Use your magic Sam! " I shouted. She took a deep breath. She raise her hand. A snowflake symbol suddenly appeared beneath her feet. I watch in Awe " Ice Magic: Endless Blizzard! " A strong blizzard of snow surrounded the gym. I cover my eyes damn she's strong for a small girl.

The blizzard suddenly stopped, I slowly open my eyes to see the snow stopped mid-air... the gym floor is covered in frost the robots where frozen in place making them unable to move. I look at Sam who was standing in the middle taking breaths, she turned to us giving a wide smile. We cheered as she came over to us. " Impressive Ms. Salvador, I will mark your performance A " Ms. Flores said scribbling on her notepad. " Great going Sam! That was dope! " One of our classmate said. The others congratulated her while she gave a smile. She came up to me " You were awesome back there " I said blushing abit she giggle " Thanks I was really pumped up because I got to use my magic once again. I guess I over did it " She said scratching her cheek looking at the still frozen Robots. I chuckled patting her head.

The others soon finished thier Strength test. I just finished mine and damn... I got a B... again. Well... my magic's not that high classed. Elemental magic is far way powerful than any other magics. I sigh my grades in SE is always B...
" Cheer up Ace! You did good " Joseph said patting my shoulder I sigh " My grade is always B in this Class " I frown " It's fine if you have a B here Ace atleast you did your best and your top of your grades in other subject " I smile alittle bit... well I am part of the top students...
" And guess what? " I turn to look at him " Sam was smilling when you battled the robots she thinks your cool " I blush red while he laugh I glare at him " Damn you " I mumble walking away while he continue to laugh.

Sam's POV

I walk alone in the almost empty hallway. Well I was going to the common room. Sky said she's going to the library to read some books about mythical creatures... well she just interested in those kind of stuffs. I was walking when a group of girls suddenly blocked me " Well well well if it isn't the pretty girl in the campus Samantha Salvador " The girl with green hair said glaring daggers at me " I always see you everyday sticking your filthy self next to Ace... You stay away from him " the girl threathened " Excuse me but who do you think you are?He's my friend, you can't just make me stay away from him! " I said calmly. The girl got furious " Why you little Bitch! " She yell grabbing my wrist harshly, slapping me across the face. She was about to punch me when a voice interupted " Hey " I turn to look at... Red? " What do you think your doing Mina? Picking on someone again aren't we? " He said codly walking toward us. The girl suddenly froze in place letting go of my wrist. She gave a tsk before scurying off with her gang. I clutch my now swollen wrist the burning sensation on my cheek still lingered.
" Come on get up " I look up at Red who looked me with his plain expression. " You need to go to the clinic that might bruise " He said suddenly grabbing my hand gently wait gently!? dragging me toward the way to the clinic. What the hell? Why is he nice all of a sudden?
