Chapter 17

Samantha's POV

One of my favorite subject is up! We all seated at the bleachers already in our gym uniform ready for another Strength Examination. Mrs. Flores said we need to practice doing combo moves or something so we can be more powerful in duel battles. My eyes sparkle as the thought of learning new found abilities that was never there. I love when I discover things regarding my magic. "Okay this you will do in pairs! After the minutes of forming abilities we shall test that certain ability and combo." Ms. Flores said as she spoke with a stunning smile on her stunning face. Gabrielle suddenly raised his hand "Yes Mr. Fletcher?" "Can we choose partner's ma'am?" He ask as I just mindlessly toying with Ian's fingers. "Yes, you may choose partners. You can also consider on the original parings. Since it's ability combination you shall change partners or pair with someone else." Ms. Flores said as she clapped her hand giving a smile that is way too stunning and beautiful "Now you all shall begin!" With that she turned into a comet and floated away.

I sat up and started to look around for possible partner and comparability with my magic which is winter manipulation. I smirk as I see Sky and Ian paring up and started to talk at a corner of the gym. Well I just ship them SkyIan? I dunno sound wierd when we combine thier names. I fell a tap on my shoulder as I turn around to look at the source. "Hey Samantha!" Gabrielle said as he smiled at me with a bright smile "Oh, hi Gabrielle are you looking for a partner?" I ask looking around for a certain raven haired boy. Well we are assigned partners and plus I wanna combine my magic with him, since it's kinda interesting. "yeahhh! Say, can we be partner's Sam?" He said as he suddenly lean close to my face making me blush and feel uncomfortable. He's too close "Oh! Uhmm I'm sorry Gabrielle it's-" "Because she is my permanent partner" my sentence was cut short as I look to my side to see Ace as he looks at the boy and to me. "Yeah! He is my partner Gabrielle, but we could pair next time!" I said as I stood there uncomfortable the atmosphere right now is oddly thick. Gabrielle looked at him then smiled "Okay then, I'll see yah around Samantha" he said giving me a wink making me blush before walking away.  I sigh Man glad that's over! I squeak as Ace suddenly grabbed my hand dragging me toward a corner of the gym since the space is almost occupied. I can feel something is off "Hey! I can walk on my own you know dummy" I said as he stop and look at me with an unreadable expression. I looked at him worried yes flustered as I stare at his features that actually really attractive. "Are you alright Ace?" I ask stepping closer as I put a hand on his shoulder. "I'm fine, Sam I'm just tired" he said giving a timid smile. I look at him more worried he hasn't slept?  "You didn't sleep properly?" I ask putting a hand on his cheek. "I'll be f-fine Sam! Let's just p-practice" he said as he grabbed my hand on his larger ones. "Unless you wanna know what our abilities are capable of?" He said grinning as my eyes sparkle. "Alright!" He smile as we work on our combined ability!

"Everybody settle down now" we all sat in the bleachers Ace on my right as Sky on my left. "Now that you are all settled I hope you are all ready for the testing"
Ms. Flores said as she look at her list. "now that is done we shall start" we sat on our seats with intensity as we await for the first pairs Ms. Flores will say to test out the new found ability. Ace and I created a new ability, I was really thrilled that we can produce an combined ability since our magic is really not that actually compatible. But still it was really fun to actually practice with him. I actually miss that. I blush as I think of what happened in the library the almost kiss that was about to happen between us. Or maybe it was just a mere coincidence or just his games? Other than that it's still makes me flustered. "We'll start with Gabrielle and Noehlla" I turn to look at them. And yes, Ella was actually there looking board and woozy. Still sleepy I guess? They stood in the arena as a giant robot appeared. My eyes widen we're gonna fight that?! I look at the robot uneasy. Ace must have sensed my worries for he place his warm hand on top of my cold one's. I look at him giving him an ueady stare "Hey, it's going to be fine okay? We're strong remember?" He said softy as he squeeze my hand. I nod smilling mumbling a thanks. We look at the arena to see Gabrielle and Ella in their position as the robot started to advance toward them "Nature Magic!" "Earth magic!" They both casted as symbols appeared "This is going to be so cool!" I hear the twins said in the background as I watch there clearly amazed "Unification magic! The Nature Golem!" Suddenly a giant Creature with tree's and earth appeared. "Attack!" The Golem ran as they clashed with the robot. I watch my eyes sparking as Ace chuckle.

They soon defeated the robot as we congratulate them. "That was awesome guys!" I said as I Pat Ella's shoulder considering I'm shorter than her. Damn this height. "Thanks, it was kinda fun" Ella said as she gave a yawn. She's probably sleepy again. Gabrielle suddenly appeared as he lean our down my height his face again utterly close to mine. "Whatcha think about our combo Samantha? Isn't it awesome?" He said cockily giving me a smirk as my face begin to heat up. He's way too close!  "Yeah, Congrats Gabrielle" I said as I move back alittle. He smiled then patted my head "Oh please just call me Gab, pretty lady anyways Good luck" He said before walking to his seat. I sigh as I slump in my chair. He should really know about personal space.

Soon all performed and done well. "Samantha and Ace" I stand up so was Ace as we walked at the arena. The robot suddenly appeared making us barely dodge it's attack.

Narrators POV

Sky jump as the robot punch where they once stood. "This is gonna be interesting since thier ability are incompatible" Joseph said looking casually like the massive punch didn't affect him that his best friend could be knocked out "I wonder what-" "Will Happen next" "This is gonna be awesome!" The twins said finishing each other's line and saying in sync it's thier twin thing. Ian on the other hand looked at his sister as they keep on dodging. Something about the robot seems deadly. "Hey? Isn't the robot acting up?" He said as he looked at his friends in worry "What do you mean?" Sky ask looking at the battlefield. "The robot is acting aggressive, it wasn't acting that way when we battled it" He said as the twins gasp while Ella yawned "It seems that someone have high jacked the robots system" Joseph said looking at it calculatedly. "Oh no" Sky mumbled looking at his friends with worry "We need to do something!" Gab said as he looked at them as they keep on dodging and dodging. "Where's Ms. Flores?" They look around but the teacher was no where to be found "The hell where did she go!?" Ian said frantically getting more and more worried. He tried to get to the field but oddly the Barrier is on. "Shit! I forgot the barrier is on!" He said bagging at the magic barrier while screaming his sisters name. "Joseph do something!" Sky yelled as The glasses boy nod, running toward the control room. He tried opening it but it won't budge "The door is locked!" He yelled as he keeps on shaking the handle. "Negy, Luna! Come with me let's warn a teacher now!" Gabrielle yell at the twins. The others looked at them worried.
