Soon enough we arrived in the lab, everything in the lab was left in the familiar state I left it in; almost like I never left. I saw the very same place that Charles shrunk me and the memories swept through me. I looked in the direction the flashbacks simmering through my memories. Trying to get into the building with my code showed an error, and I'm pretty sure Charles locked me out of the system, I was never very good with coding and managing the building and blocking access to certain people. Since my code was blocked we had to use Aiden's code and hopefully his access to the lab will not draw attention to anyone, since he rarely visited the lab.I looked around the and looked around where I should get started. I already knew what made people shrink; it was all in the DNA and cell division. Hypothetically thinking the cell was modified during the shrinking process and that was the area I needed to test, but I still had no thought of how the cells were modified. I needed to test something and then study the change of the DNA and the cells and how they changed when it's running through the system of the shrink ray. It's not like I didn't do this before, but I needed to shrink something and look at the differences of the genome.
I had been in the lab for not even ten minutes, but I needed to log on to the computer system. "Aiden, I'm going to need your help?" I got no response from Aiden, but at this height I could not use the little programming I know, so it showed no one logged in the computer. Aiden still didn't respond, and he seemed to be moping around about earlier. I decided I had to raise my voice to grab his attention since he was ignoring me. "Aiden I need your help with the typing or we're not going to get anything done tonight!" Aiden mumbled some words under his breath. "Now this is very specific the coding has to be exact in order to work." I told Aiden what to type and had to make sure the coding was correctly typed in order to work; I could tell Aiden was getting frustrated by his mocking comments he was whispering under his breath.
Access was finally granted and I continued to give specific directions to Aiden on how to get programs to launch. Aiden opened the program and there was more coding to be done in order to access specific files of some of the test subjects. Finally the page I needed to open up, "You have to scroll down I need one of the most recent test subjects." Scrolling down the list made me realized how many people have been affected by my work. "Stop right there." I knew when I saw the image of who it was.

"Alina! Alina!" I focused on where my name was being called and Aiden was looking at me weird, "Are you okay?" I nodded my head slowly, I needed to focus. "Not him pick a person who was done today?" I finally nodded my head, seeing the image, luckily for me it wasn't someone I knew. Luckily for me, I was granted more information since it had just been a day since she was shrunk, but of course looking at her blood sequencing showed nothing new. I looked through all the files on the patient and nothing was useful. Thats when I decided I needed to study my cells now that they have been changed. "I need your help in getting some of my DNA." Aiden was just sitting on the lab chair almost half asleep. "How would I do that?"
I had to walk Aiden through all the steps on how to swab some of my DNA from my mouth, needless to say he did not enjoy it. Finally after analyzing I saw some sort of changing, the shrink ray definitely affected some sort of cell division. It was changing slowly, and I had no clue what was happening to it. "Just shut the computer down I give up for the day." I was frustrated it was a failure now in my dire time, I was frustrated I didn't know how to fix it so I could change back.
