I remained silent and hidden. I knew this was important to Aiden, he was finally getting his chance with visiting his mother. From what Aiden told me about his relationship with his mother it wasn't good. Since knowing Mr.Madden he hardly talked about his wife and I never wanted to intrude, more than I have."My darling son it's wonderful to see you." I heard the woman whom I assumed was Aiden's mother. That's all I heard and then an awkward silence seems to follow. "So what is it you want now ?" I could already tell Aiden was upset having to deal with his mother. "Don't be like your father, I know I didn't raise you to be like him." That's when I felt Aiden get up from his chair and heard some glass breaking, "That's because you didn't raise me and for all I care I'll make sure you get your damn money so I never have to see you again."
Aiden grabbed me from his pocket and set me down on the bed and he sat down beside me. I looked up at Aiden studying him, and I guess he felt my eyes on him. "Don't you dare say anything." I nodded my head and turned away from him. "Just so you know I wasn't going to say anything." I guess now was our time for silence. Aiden got up and started pacing. "I guess you wanna know why I told my mother off like that in public?" We all have secrets and I didn't want him to feel obligated to tell me something just because he is stuck with me. I nodded my head, "Aiden just because your stuck with me for now, you don't have to explain anything to me." Aiden made eye contact with me and nodded his head.
Aiden was packing up his luggage after our encounter. Aiden didn't seem to want to do much talking; and in some ways I understood. Honestly, I didn't know how to comfort Aiden; even if me and him were not friends I didn't want him to suffer through emotional turmoil. Family; can either be associated with blood or by emotional ties. Luckily for Aiden he was associated with blood and actually had relatives. But I guess that's what makes us different, he had connection to his parents, but I didn't.
Currently we were sitting in a car or more so Aiden was; and I had no clue where we were headed. I peaked my head out of the pocket and looked around, "I'm leaving to go back home." I lay back in the pocket and relaxed, we were going home and hopefully I could now start my research and reverse this whole shrinking.
The next thing I knew we were already back in Aidens house. Aiden had just taken me out of his pocket and set me down on his couch, for some reason, just being here makes me feel safer and relaxed. Aiden had his driver bring in his luggage in and laid it by the entrance. I relaxed on the couch, maybe deciding if I should take a nap. The door bell rang, making me be alert, Aiden went to the door and I recognized the voice from anywhere. Mr. Madden was here and from the sound of his voice he was not happy.
Next thing I knew I saw Aiden rushing towards me and I was covered in darkness again with his hands. His hands still engulfed me and I can tell he was trying to hide me without drawing the attention from his father. "So father what had brought you here at this time? I'll be back in the office tomorrow." He was stalling Aiden was trying his best to get rid of his dad, but I knew it was pointless Mr. Madden would never budge.
"We're going to get sued if we can't figure out how to come up with the formula to reverse the shrinking." I could tell Mr. Madden was very upset, and of course he was right , his company could be ruined . I was covered by Aiden still hidden away, but I knew that Mr. Madden could spill my secrets. "Just hire some more researchers to continue what Alina started." I heard a shattering noise of glass breaking, and heavy footsteps. "If your to take over the company one day Aiden, than you should know, no one, but Alina can fix this." Mr.Madden yelled, I've only heard him raise his voice like this once and it was horrible. "I'll just find someone smarter and has more experienced than just Alina." Aiden yelled back at his father I could tell there was a lot of tension in the room following this conversation. "Why do you put so much faith in Alina? Is it true all the rumors between you two?" Aiden yelled. The rumors that Aiden brought up to me before, I knew they weren't true; but Mr. Madden promised to keep my secret.
Soon enough everything ended Mr. Madden left and Aiden stormed off. I was just left on the couch alone. Clearly Aiden had family issues, but all the stories and gossip made him seemed like he was a wild child; someone who took his wealth for granted and he was the problem. After a while Aiden came down the stairs dressed in jeans and a black shirt, it was the first time I saw him in a casual outfit. "We're going to the lab and I don't want to hear any complaints from you." I have no complaints I was finally happy to start my research.
