HALLOWEEN
A true heart should never be doubted.
Weaving down a hallway, Fallon sneaked past a limping zombie, a swashbuckling pirate, and a banana man. She paused when a baseball player in a red socks uniforms and holding a baseball bat in one arm and a glove in the other waved at her. "Tanner?"
Her friend nodded and smiled, a grinned reaching from ear to ear. "I was starting to think you wouldn't recognize me with all my good looks." he teased.
Fallon frowned before meeting up toward the edge of the hallway. Kids were streaming all around them, all of them too early to be at school, especially on Halloween. When she was sure there was no teachers looking, she turned back to Tanner and play punched him in the arm.
"Ouch, you'll make me drop my glove," Tanner said with a fake pout before looking around the crowd for their third friend.
Fallon was just relieved to see she wasn't the only one at school to dress up. Last year no one seemed to wear a costume but this year over half the school was. She glanced down at her own costume, she had fretted all last night on whether or not her own outfit was too much.
"You ready for the candy fest tonight?" Tanner asked with his same old goofy grin he always had on him.
Fallon grinned back. Even though they were now freshmen in high school, there was no way she would pass up on free candy. It didn't even matter if she was the only one, she was never too old to get free candy from random strangers.
"Yo, nice get up Tan-man," a smirking face appeared, belonging to no other than Jackson. He was wearing a all black costume with even a black hat and feather. Whatever his costume was, Fallon wasn't sure if it was meant to be a thief or some sort of robber. "Red Socks, they lost last weeks game though, have to say I'm a bit of a Yankees fan myself."
Tanner scoffed, "Don't come to my house saying that, my family will beat you up if they hear that."
Jackson placed his hands up in surrender, "Roger that," he turned to face Fallon. "We going trick-or-treating after school?"
"Duh," Fallon answered, shifting the weight of her backpack to a more comfortable position. "Though, what exactly are you suppose to be? Some sort of ninja?"
"What, you can't tell? It's me, Peter Pan's shadow!" He grinned, placing his arms into a super hero pose. He glanced down at me for a second when he was done being theatrical. "Cool outfit yourself, let me guess, hobo?"
"Close," she laughed in return, "Guess again."
"Hmmm, I know, a cave man,"
"You're getting warmer, maybe trying using that big brain of your's."
"Ah, you must be one of those magical people that wave their hands in the air and move stuff with levitation." Jackson said and winked. "Just kidding," He glanced down at the lightsaber, "Dang, you even got a custom lightsaber made, you getting all fancy."
Tanner laughed, "Yeah, I bought her that last month for her birthday you ditto," he moved to flick Jackson in the head with a laugh.
"Oh yeah, must have slipped my mind," Jackson said and glanced down at his watch, "We're still meeting up at you house after school, Tanner?"
"Yeep, pizza and everything. We should be able to start going to houses around 5:30 at the earliest but my mom will probably want to have us do a group picture so maybe six?"
