Happily Ever After (Finally!)

Hey people! Welcome back! I hope you enjoy chapter 4!

Travis POV:

"Katie! I'm home," I shouted up the stairs.

Katie Gardner, well now Katie Stoll, and I live in a house in New Athens. We have been married for 3 months now and have been living together for a year.

"Okay! I'll be right down," she answered.

I heard thumping as she walked down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"How was work?" Katie asked me.

"Ehh. It was uneventful," I replied.

I work at a safe company. We make safes to sell, and it is my job to make the locks.

"I know you hate it there, Travis. It sounds boring to me, and even you come home sometimes and you're just completely annoyed with everything," she stated.

"Well, what else am I supposed to do? I don't have any cool powers that could help me with a job. All I can do is open locks and steal things, neither of which come in handy during job interviews," I told her.

"Maybe not, but I got a job today! I've been hired to keep the gardens on Olympus in good condition," she exclaimed.

Looking at her smile, I was sure that nothing in the world was such a beautiful sight.

"That's great Katie-Kat!" I said sincerely.

"I know! Now you could quit you're job if you wanted to, because I'm getting paid quite a bit, you could be a stay at home dad!" She said excitedly.

"Yeah I'll—wait a minute. Did you say stay at home dad?" I asked her seriously.

Katie nodded at me.

I picked her up and spun her around in a circle. There were so many emotions going through my mind. I was going to be a father!

"How far along are you?" I asked her, "When did you find out?"

"I don't know exactly how far along I am, but I found out this afternoon," she told me. "I've made a doctor's appointment for next week and we'll find out then."

"Oh, Katie! This is amazing!" I exclaimed.

She nodded her head in agreement and I pulled her in for another kiss.

I set her down on the couch and laid next to her. I put my hand on her thigh and rubbed soothing circles on it.

I turned on the T.V. and flipped it too a channel I didn't know we had with baby items. After watching a few commercials, the screen showed a link with a website where you could buy them.

I quickly pulled out my laptop and got into the site. I turned off the T.V. and sat contentedly with my beautiful wife and child to be.

I turned the laptop so Katie could see what I was doing and we spent the better part of an hour looking at gender neutral baby furniture.

We bought a changing station, a bookshelf, and a swing.

We would get more stuff later, but we had like 9 months to do so.

Katie got up and I groaned.

Then she looked at me with a twinkle in her eye that usually meant dinner so I shut up.

She walked back in with a plate full of home-grilled cheese burgers and potatoes.

We laid on the couch together and watched a movie while we ate our dinner.

After we had finished eating, I took our plates up to the sink and rinsed them before setting them into the dishwasher.

I walked back to the living room and moved Katie so that she was laying in between my legs and her head was resting against my chest.

We watched the movie for maybe five minutes before we were kissing and we were in complete bliss.

Katie rolled over so she was on top of me and deepened the kiss.

I licked her bottom lip for an entrance and she immediately let me in, my tongue roaming around her mouth trying to memorize it all.

She moved so she was straddling my waist and we continued kissing.

We never did find out how that movie ended.
