Alone

Alone

(i)

the sun burns on me
floating on this emerald
sea, of no return

(ii)

darkness is my friend
it blinds me from seeing that
i am one, alone

(iii)

we are but islands
in a sea of people, where
tides always prevail

(iv)

the sunlight reminds 
my eyes verify, my heart
beats, the beat, of one
