I was in class when my phone buzzed.
L for Looser
Dinner at my place at 19.00 tomorrow
On a Tuesday? He was expecting me not to have any plans for a Tuesday? Well, he wasn't wrong, but he could have at least started by asking if I had anything planned for that time and day. Was it too much to ask for politeness when I'd escorted him in the middle of the night to his brother? I think not.
You make it sound like dinner with my grandparents
I was expecting a flirty reply but got nothing. I sighed and slid my phone back into my bag.
I was walking to the parking lot where Sam was waiting for me when I finally got a text back from him.
I'll see you then
Fine
It's not like I had anything better to do, and he was offering a free meal.

I was walking through the mall while slurping on my Starbucks drink. I had been in a great need of new socks, and there was this pretty unknown store in one of the smaller malls in the city which sold them at a great price. There wasn't much to see in the mall and most people who shopped here were in their fifties and sixties.
I didn't mind, it only meant there was a minimal risk to run into people I knew since all the adolescents hung out in the newer and bigger malls. I walked passt a pretty qute looking café and peered through the window to see what they had to offer.
What I didn't expect to see was two people I very much recognized sitting in the corner of the café.
Could it be?
Oh oh... They were definitely kissing. I walked away with quick steps before I would get noticed.
Well, at least now I could be sure that Ethan's secret date hadn't been Sam.
Because he had been kissing a girl.
But not any girl.
A caramel-haired and blue-eyed girl.
Annabelle.

I rung the bell to the Anderson twin's apartment, Lucas's coat hanging on my arm. I really didn't want to go after witnessing Ethan and Annabelle's makeout session. What I wanted to do was leave the coat outside the door and make a run for it.
Before I could grow the balls to do it Ethan opened the door and I forced a polite smile on my face. Did Lucas know? Or was his brother sneaking behind his back with Annabelle? Why would they otherwise have been at that mall where only old people went?
"You clean up nice," he greeted and let me in. Was I only imagining things or was Ethan's smile very tense? Had he seen me witnessing his betrayal?
"Thanks," I muttered and took off my boots before letting Ethan take my and Lucas's coats.
"Lucas!" Ethan shouted. "You're guest is here."
"My guest?" I heard steps before Lucas appeared. "Ella?"
"Hi?" I was confused by his reaction.
"Are you seeing Ethan?" Lucas asked with a confused face.
"Excuse me?"
"I'll take that as a no... So why are you here?"
"Because you asked me to come." I was profoundly confused.
