tracing paper
a charcoal line, fresh dark and smooth.
starting first with a structure
a sense of support
a layout for one's physique
horizontal and vertical lines
show where the body starts and endsat first something small
a thin line
something light and airy
capturing just the essence of one's
sillouhette, barely therea mighty curve
down and out and up and around
this is where she begins
leaving spaces in between
letting the light leak throughher shape shall be bathed in sunlight but
give her shadows to mask
the imperfections and the marks
she's been here before
merely a rough outline of a womanraw and dark in places
smudges where shes been hurt before
by others and herself
betrayed by her own nature
her form is not newmerely reborn on a sheer vessel,
here for a moment until she fades away
thank god
those fine lines in ink
a nightmare in dense form, stainingyou can always start over, fresh and blank
