"Ah, Kavra!" Watto yells, waving me over

"Ah, Kavra!" Watto yells, waving me over.

"What do you want, Watto?" I ask, yawning.

I didn't get any sleep last night, I too worried about keeping everyone safe from this new dark force. I spent the entire night up, pacing around the house, lightsaber in hand.
I walk over to Watto and Qui-Gon follows.

"I want to see your ship the moment the race is over," Watto tells us, pointing a finger at Qui-Gon.

"Patience my blue friend," Qui-Gon says, "You'll have your winnings before the suns set and we'll be far away from here."

"Not if your ship belongs to me," Watto laughs, "I warn you, no funny business."

"You don't think Anakin can win?" I ask.

"Don't get me wrong, no, he's a great credit to your race," Watto says, "But Sebulba is going to win, I think."

"Why do you think that?" I say, wrinkling my nose at the disgusting Dug.

"He always wins!" Watto laughs jovially, "I am betting heavily on Sebulba!"

"I'll take that bet," I say, stepping forward.

"You what?"

"I'll wager our new pod racer against, say, Anakin and Shmi," I cross my arms.

"No pod is worth two slaves, not by a long shot!"

"Fine then," I roll my eyes, "I'll just take Anakin then."

My old Master gives me a look and I shake my head, hoping he'll stay out of it.

"Hmmm, well, uh, we'll let fate decide," Watto agrees, pulling out a chance cube, "I just so happen to have a chance cube here. Blue, it's the boy, red, his mother."

"Fine," I say, grinning.

Watto throws the cube and I raise my hand slightly, flicking my wrist so the cube lands on the blue side. Watto grumbles and shoots a deadly glare at me.

"You won this small toss, Kavra, but you won't win the race!"

"I wouldn't be so sure about that, Watto," I roll my eyes.

Watto flies off and Qui-Gon looks down at me, "You shouldn't have done that, Kavra."

"How else are we supposed to get him to the council?"

"Let's get this done, Ani!" I yell from the sidelines of the race.

The race is about to begin and I feel the normal crawl of anxiety in my mind. He'll be fine, he's gonna do great. Jabba the Hutt slides out and calls for the start of the race. The flag bearers walk out of the way of the pods and everyone starts their racer's engines.

"Oh, dissent gonna be messy!" Jar Jar cries, "Me no watch'n!"

The gong sounds and everyone takes off, except for two of the pods. Anakin's pod must have stalled.
