"Aspare!" Watto screams angrily

"Aspare!" Watto screams angrily.

I roll my eyes, walking out from where I was working on a small droid.

"What do you want, Watto?" I groan.

"Well I was going to be generous and let you go home early but with that tone. . . ." he trails off.

"Goodbye Watto," I say, grabbing my jacket and walking out of the shop.

"I better see you early tomorrow!" he yells after me.

"Yeah, yeah!" I wave over my shoulder.

I walk through the town square and let my mind wander, sensing all the people in my general vicinity. I pause, feeling a pure soul walking through the crowd. Only certain people have that aura coming from them. It has to be a Jedi. I walk straight toward the person I'm looking for but run into a Gungan.

"Move!" I snap, pushing passed him.

The Gungan squeals and I turn to see Sebulba push him to the ground. I take a step forward, ready to step in if need be, but a small figure darts in front of me.

"Careful, Sebulba," Anakin warns, "He's a big-time outlander, I'd hate to see you diced before we race again."

"Next time we race, boy, it will be the end of you," Sebulba growls, pointing at Anakin, "If you weren't a slave, I'd squash you right now."

"Yeah, it'd be a pity if you had to pay for me," Anakin snarks.

"Beat it, Sebulba!" I call, taking a step toward the Dug.

His eyes widen and he walks off, cursing under his breath.

"You okay, Ani?" I ask.

"Of course, I am!" he responds, "Sebulba doesn't scare me!"

I roll my eyes at the young boy and turn to the Gungan, "You need to be more careful next time, not everyone is as friendly as Anakin and I."

"Thank you for stepping in when you did, my friend," a voice says from behind me.

I spin on my heel and let out a squeal of happiness, my old master standing before me.

"Qui-Gon!" I say, jumping into his open arms.

"You certainly have grown my child!" he laughs, pulling me into a hug.

"And you got old!" I joke, pulling away from him.

"And your manners have not gotten any better," he chuckles, resting a hand on my shoulder.

"Kavra, who's that?" Anakin asks, standing next to me, staring up at Qui-Gon with wide eyes.

"And old friend, Anakin," I explain, "Qui-Gon, this is my friend Anakin."

"Nice to meet you," my old Master says.

"Your buddy over there was gonna get turned into orange goo!" Anakin says, "He picked a fight with a Dug, an especially dangerous Dug, called Sebulba."

"Mesa haten the crunchen," the Gungan says, "Das da las ting mesa want."

"Nevertheless, the boy is right, you were heading into trouble," Qui-Gon scolds the Gungan.

"But mesa doin' nuttin!" the Gungan responds.

Qui-Gon walks away and I jog to catch up to him, "Master, why are you here on Tattooine?"

"Me and my new Padawan were on a mission to have the Trade Federation sign a treaty, but it turned into a rescue mission of the Queen," Qui-Gon explains, "Our ship was hit, so we needed to stop for repairs, but now it seems we are stranded."

"A new Padawan?" I ask.

"Of course, that's what you pick up on," Qui-Gon mocks, "I can't just have one Padawan, Kavra, I must train many younglings."

"Well, I can help with the repairs," I say, "The guy I work for has a lot of stuff."

We stop at a food stand and I quickly hand the woman some money, taking the food from her.

"There's a storm coming," she warns, "You two better get home."

"Do you have shelter?" Anakin asks Qui-Gon.

"We'll head back to our ship," Qui-Gon responds.

"Where'd you land?" I question.

"It's on the outskirts," the young girl who was tagging alone with the group says.

"You'll never make it back in time," I say, pursing my lips.

"Sandstorms are very, very dangerous," Anakin says, "Come on, I'll take you to my place."

"Actually, it's our place," I say quietly.

We all follow Anakin and quickly reach our home, just in time. The sandstorm has started and I cough as we walk into our home.

"Mom!" Anakin calls, "Mom, I'm home!"

"Ahh, dissent cozy," the Gungan, Jar Jar, says.

Shimi walks in and her eyes widen when she sees everyone in her home.

"These are my new friends, Mom!" Anakin says.

"Hello!" Jar Jar says, waving.

"I am Qui-Gon Jinn," my Master introduces.

"I'm building a droid, do you wanna see?" Anakin asks the young girl, grabbing her hand, "Come on, I'll show you 3PO!"

"Your son was kind enough to offer us shelter," Qui-Gon says.

Shimi still looks apprehensive and I step forward, "He's an old friend of mine, you can trust him."

She visibly relaxes and I smile lightly at Qui-Gon. His transmitter beeps quietly and I follow him as we excuse ourselves.

"Yes, Obi-Wan?"

"The Governor of Naboo has sent us a message, he wants us to contact him, but I think it's just a ploy," the voice says over the transmitter.

"It sounds like bait to establish a connection," I say.

"Who's that?"

"Ah, yes, Obi-Wan meet Kavra Aspare," Qui-Gon says, "Kavra meet Obi-Wan Kenobi, my new Padawan."

"Pleasure," I say, "Although I think introductions will be easier once we meet in person."

Obi-Wan chuckles from the transmitter and I smile.

"But Master, what if it is true, and the people are dying?"

"Either way, we are running out of time," Qui-Gon says, turning off the transmitter.

"We need to hurry and get you off this planet," I say.

"When it is time to leave, you must come with us," Qui-Gon says, "I have a feeling we will need you."

"Yes Master," I respond, walking into the kitchen.
