"Shiisssh......ugh!"
Quiet hissing sounds were coming from behind the boxes. Zephany was stitching up her leg with a surgical needle and some thread they had stolen from a nearby pharmacy.
She had self taught herself to stitch up wounds about two years ago.
"Here!" Ryker threw a packet of bread at her, which instead of her catching it fell right on her right arm, which she had just stitched up.
"Oww! Are you fucking dumb?!" Her voice echoed through the warehouse.
"Sorry," he bent down and took her hand, which she immeadiately pulled away hissing in pain again, "the bandages should work, right? Stop the blood flow dammit!" Ryker started covering up her wound, carefully wrapping the wounded part with a surgical gauge.
"We should move soon. People might suspect someone trespassing and send out a search party." Ryker said as he opened up his packet of bread of bread and started chewing on it.
Zephany had enough of this person. She had never felt so restless and clueless in her life.
First he uses some kind of "book magic" to transport them to a very isolated place, then he has the audacity to deny the whole thing ever happening and tell her she's crazy. But when she asked him how did they get there, he ignores her like she's a ghost. She was only supposed to find out information and send it to the gang so that she can free May.
But instead she got into some very deep shit.
"Tell me where we are, you fucking brat! Or I swear to god imma chop up your balls and feed them to the dogs." The monster inside of her had answered her mind's distress call, which led to Zephany shouting obsceneties into Ryker's face while holding him up by the neck with her good hand, against the metal pole.
"Calm down, tiger. Fine! I'll tell you, just a little bit though." Ryker sighed as he pulled her hand away from his throat.
Zephany would settle for anything, even if it meant nothing that would help her.
She picked up the bread, satisfying her starving stomach.
"I'm from the other world.
And how we got here was because I used magic from an ancient scripture that I lost yesterday.
I couldn't control the flow of magic, and now the knights are probably trailing us because we created such a big fluctuation in the magic flow, that it led to a black out in the other world."
Ryker was quiet and so was Zephany but their reasons were complete opposite.
Ryker was quiet as he was scared and Zephany thinks its a joke.
"Nice, now tell the truth." Zephany awkwardly laughed.
Ryker just looked down at his feet.
"Wait you mean this is not a joke. How can this be true?" She pulled at her already tangled hair in frustration.
"Look, I'm sorry. Its all our fault you got into this mess." Ryker pulled Zephany up and ran towards a wall of empty cardboard boxes.
There was a foul smell coming from the door of the warehouse.
"Wooof! Worghh!"
Two yellow creatures came inside. They sniffing the place the two were sitting before. Suddenly, the creatures bolted out of the place.
"They're scout dogs, they'll be coming at us any minute. We have to move."
The two teenagers ran out into the woods behind the warehouse and disappeared behing the trees.
"REI REYNOLDS!" There was a loud shout and they a huge blast in the woods.
