Zephany was shivering in the cold, wearing wet clothes certainly worsened the situation. There was still some more time left for the bus to come. That man who had informed her about the bus schedule was no where to be seen.

If she could get in the bus, maybe the bus would have heaters. She already had a light fever which was increasing dangerously.

She suddenly flinched as she felt a blanket wrap around her. She turned around scared, looking for who had sneaked up on her.

There was guy sitting next to her, wearing a huge winter jacket that covered most of him, including his head. She was not able to see his face, but a few strands of red hair was peeking through the hood.

"Don't worry, I won't hurt you." He whispered as he wrapped his hands around Zephany. She felt really uncomfortable and wanted to get away from his grasp, but her body was in no shape to move. Aftet the exhausting run down the mountain, she couldn't even move a limb.

She squirmed under his hold but he kept tightening his arms around her, although it felt warm and nice she didn't want a stranger comforting her during midnight. Everyone had become strangers except for May.

You got to be insane to be sane. It makes perfect sense to Zephany. Her only sense of belongingness and sanity came from May. She didn't trust anyone and certainly didn't trust this man. She stepped on his foot with as much strength as she could muster. It made little to no impact, he let out a hiss and pulled his foot from under Zephany's.

The bus arrived, Zephany was supported by the man and they both got into the bus. He payed for the ticket and they both sat in the last seats. She collapsed on the seats and couldn't get up. She was barely breathing and her temperature rose.

The man straightened her and covered her with the blanket which was sliding down.

"We'll reach there soon, just a few hours." He whispered in her ear.

"Who are you?"

"Call me Rei." He slipped his hood off and wrapped his jacket around Zephany.

His face was almost identical to Ryker's. She stared at his face until she was too exausted to think anymore. If he said they would reach there, then they probably would. Afterall he looked familiar, her tired brain just accepted him as Ryker.

She fell asleep in a familiar stranger's arms on the moving bus. It felt like home, the soft moving of the bus lulled her to sleep as the stranger stared out of the window with his arms wrapped around her protectively.
